The French Mistake

Personality:

Serious and collected, D'artagnan took on some of his sires influences. However, he is far from cruel and bloodthirsty. His dream is to take on his brother's position, and he works hard to this goal. He is aggressive, but this is usually towards other stallions, as he is quite the gentleman towards the mares. Behind his cold demeanor, he hides a fragile heart. Young, but not one that should be overlooked. He's an efficient fighter who finds thrill from the fight. He has a bad issue with pent up anger, and he usually takes it out on his brother, who is just as hard headed as himself.
 

History:

D'artagnan is the son of Severus and Agace, younger brother to the now lead stallion, Damienus. The time of his father was dark; murder, fear, and aggression. Serverus did not get his lead position through honor, and made sure his followers feared him so that he would never lose his reign of power. Affection was not in his nature. Not even towards his mate and lead mare. Love was non-existent in this stallion. Before D'artagnan, there was Damienus, who ended up getting the full wrath of his father. Slowly, Damienus was turning into the monster his father wanted him to be. Soon enough, the herd feared him as much as his sire.

Things changed 2 years later when D'artagnan came into the world. At the first sight of seeing his new found son, Severus snorted, his head shaking viciously before he reared up on his hind legs. Words as clear as day - - "That is not my son!" being spoken His hooves were nearly on D'artagnan and Agace before Damienus stepped in the middle and clearly obtained the blunt of his fathers brutality. With the anger of the Lead Stallion enhancing at the fact that his "true" son stepped between what he wished to get done, there was no stopping him now from punishing Damienus for 'treason'.

D'artagnan may have been a newborn, but he still remembers the day clearly, and he knows his fathers words still linger in his older brothers memory. Was D'artagnan not a foal of Serverus? Sure, he was darker than his older brother, but he still looked every bit his brother, as well as his fathers son. But did Agace hold a secret? These thoughts hold tension sometimes, but the brothers have grown a strong bond. Damienus has taken up the position of lead stallion, which D'artagnan usually takes over when his older brother leaves for a long period of time. Some find it strange to see two lead stallions, but it works for them. But for how long?

But as time goes on, D'artagnan is beginning to wonder if his brother's loyalty is wavering. Damienus was spending more time away from the herd, spending most of his time wtih a mare from the Lakota tribe, and with the humans there. This also left D'artagnan in charge of the herd, as well as to deal with spirit; a rival stallion. Spirit came around more now, trying to steal mares any chance he got from D'artagnan's small herd. This usually left D'artagnan hot tempered all the time, and even more aggressive to his brother when he did finally return.
