"The only thing I know how to do is be Me. What's the point of being anyone else?"
Personal Info
Name: Flamenco (a name that greatly embarrasses him). Nickname: Flame, The Torch.
Age: Any age that he's portrayed in, preferably adult.
Breed: American Pinto x Spanish Mustang
Personality: More of a lover than a fighter, Flame has always been a born morale booster, cheering up his friends in whatever way possible. His loyalty to them is a solid wall of iron, which is something that makes him highly defensive and charged up if they're threatened. His biggest weakness is, perhaps, his lack of tolerance to being laughed / taunted / jeered at, unless he wanted to make others do so intentionally. If it happens, Flame's temper is quite explosive, even moreso if not kept in check. Otherwise he is a bright and cheerful boy with oodles of optimism.
Likes: Chilling, hanging out with his mates and Charm. Has an unusual addiction to pears.
Dislikes: (^See Above^), also dislikes references to his family / past herd.
Fears: Facing any sort of enemy bigger / stronger / more powerful than him. Meeting his old herd alone.
Song: 'Counting Stars' by OneRepublic
Voice: A mixture of American / Spanish accents
Relationships
Sire: ??? (Pinto) Dam: ??? (Mustang)
Siblings/Half Siblings: Has 7 halfs in total (Open to make)
Friends: Brisket, Charm, Titanic, Eclair, Atlas and Markus. (OPEN) Enemies: (OPEN)
Crush(s)/Crusher(s): Charm (Blazetail). Mate: Charm.
Foals: None (Charm is expecting though).
~~~
Herd: Used to live out in the plains. Current Village / Settlement: A fort taken over by Lakotas.
Herd Rank: No particular rank.
Rider: None as of yet.
Bio
Despite being born in the wild, I don't remember much about living out there. I can remember, though, that my parents weren't allowed to have me. For some stupid reason, the herd leader seemed to think that crosses between different 'types', as he called them, was a bad thing. I guess it's why I get along so well with Atlas, because we were both looked down on for not being 'purebreeds'. I had it worse though, because my mother was thrown out immediately after I was born, never to see again, and my father had to look after me plus several other kids he'd had with other mares (all Pintos), all whilst being treated to scorn by my peers. While I do vaguely recall my dad telling me he hadn't intended to get involved with my mum, he still battled to keep me in the herd, a battle he eventually won.
It was a bit pointless though, my half-sibs thought I was a disgrace, let alone the adults, and did their best to give me a hard time. They once, when I was a couple of months old, decided to play 'Hide and Seek' with me, making me the Seeker and going off to hide. I spent hours searching for them, going into the forest near the herd on the guess that they'd gone in too, until I was lost. It was sheer dumb luck that stopped me wandering the forest for the rest of my life, when I spotted them running through the forest. It was only later on in my life that I realised they'd been trying to lose me on purpose, then keep me in there whilst the herd moved on. It was a plan that was almost foolproof except for their own carelessness. Yet, while I was glad that I wasn't going to be out in the wilderness on my own, I wished they'd left sooner.
Their bullying got worse, gradually escalating into beating me up at every oppertunity they got out of father's watching eye, to the point I was bleeding almost every day as they picked open old scars on my body from previous injuries. It was a nightmare of a loophole.
Then, there was that inevitable evening, in the middle of summer. I was a yearling now, and my halfs had decided to get rid of me once and for all. They woke me up from my sleep that night and they shoved, bit, kicked me into submission, trying to chase me off. What they hadn't counted on, was my patience finally snapping in two like a twig, and I lashed out at the eldest of my half-siblings, a hoof connecting with his eye. I don't remember what happened to them, because that was when I turned and bolted away, finally escaping the torture I had been under for over a year.
I stopped only to drink, otherwise running for maybe half a week without sleep or food, watching the plains blur by under my hooves like time had sped up. I was greatful that it passed without much event, and surprised I hadn't been attacked by Cougars or Coyotes. I'd heard of so-called campfire stories about them creatures, enough to make my spine go cold. It was fortunate also that I reached the village in time.
Oh, the village. It was fantastic! Food, water, shelter. And a field of new horses! I didn't trust them much, nor the two-leggeds that came to the field on a daily basis, but I stuck around the edges of the village, making little to no contact with the horses. Eventually, the two-leggeds noticed my presence and attempted to make friends with me. There was a few bumps and bends with their methods, but I grew to become friendly with them, even going up to a few of the horses and engaging in a little small talk to try to establish a bond with the village. I learnt the horses there were mostly crosses or horses with friends who weren't purebred, and that they didn't have the malice of my step-siblings, so I stayed. Definitely the best choice I've made.
I've spent the rest of my life with the Lakotas, making new friends, welcoming the newbies (two-legged or otherwise), even meeting the mare I would fall in love with, and who will eventually give birth to our first foal. In the meantime, I've helped in the fight against the blue-leggeds [The Cavalry], supporting the Lakotas and their allies, and assisted in the conquering of one of the forts that had been set up in the desert, which is where I now live. This is where my roles will now take place, which will be to help build a village next to this fort, and to pass messages on from the fort to the first village. I sometimes get the chance to hang out in the first village for the week, so there's always something to do or talk about. Even the odd adventure, here and there. Oh, and if you need me, you'll know who I am by the mark on my face and my distinct laugh, you'll hear that a lot!
Related to Spirit: Has met him a couple of times, but doesn't exactly understand who he is, other than as a friend of the Lakota.
NOTE: I've listed Flame as unrealistic, on the basis of the 'Flame' marking on his face not being a natural marking or design. If this is incorrect, please let me know. Thank you.
Free spirit: Thank you C: Shadow: Oh my gosh, XD I think the reason I
wrote it down was because I was listening to my iPod at the time, and
the song came up in the shuffle Obviously because it suits Flame,
but mostly it only came to me when it popped up c: |
