When he was a small foal, the Calvary took his herd away, he had been downhill when this had been going on, so he didn't see where they went, nor was he noticed. For some time he wandered, surviving on the grass that was around. Sadly, winter was comming and he would not survive for long. Luckily the Lakota tribe found him and took him with them, around this time Divya's child had finally grown. She saw Hildago and decided to raise him since his family's wearabouts was unkown. 

Hildago was a timid little guy, since he had no herd to protect him, so the Indians never rode him too much, for the most part he was left alone to stay by Divya's side. He had developed into a mama's boy, which caused him to be the butt of many jokes.

As Hildago grew it wasn't unusual to see him standing by Divya's side, protecting her. He was ridden somewhat, but not too often.
