Past and heritage: He was given as a congratulation present to the Colonel, who had just been promoted to that rank. Iron-Oak, a pure bred Morgan born  in Boston town was highly appreciated by his new master.

A year later a cavalry recruit had deliver an urgent message concerning the new Western railway. In his haste he mistook the Colonel's horse for a regular mount, and made off with Iron Oak.

Half-way through the mission ride, Iron-Oak had run his hardest until exhausted. His rider swapped him for a fresh horse at an Native Indian settlement, which had surrendered to the Cavelry.

Iron-Oak currently lives at the Indian camp. Further future to be developed
