Likes: nice humans, behing ridden well

Born to a chestnut mare who was a taxi horse and a roan stallion who had been a taxi horse but now served in the coal mines, she was bought up in the stables her dam was owned by. She and her damn shared a stall until she was weaned onto hard feed and moved into a stall by herself.

She spent day in and day out in this stall as a young one, her only friends where whichever horse she was put next to. She did befriend a  lean tall pony who was often put next to her, a great grey stallion was sometimes put next to her and he never talked, other times she would be next to worn  out taxi horses. She never saw horses her own age.

When she finally turned  2 the men started her in bridle and with the saddle. But this only happened every few  weeks as the owner wanted money over the fillies training at the time. When she turned 4 she was finally trained to pull kart and be ridden.

She was first lent out when she was almost 5. She was to pull a man and lady, they seemed to know horses and treated her fair, the next day they took her out again. This happened for a week before someone out wanted a pair  and she was put with another black horse, as she left pulling a kart with a family she saw the man and lady she liked coming in.

This new hand was not as nice as the man before. He held his rains to tight and often whipped when it was not needed, when he finally got to where they where to go he did not feed or water her and the other black horse but left them to  wait.

The next day she was taken out earlier still then the day before, but this time it was by the lady she liked, she was put in a saddle and ridden about for most the day, once returned she watched as the lady talked to her owner while a groom took her saddle off, Only to have it put back on minutes later, the lady had bought her.

The lady  – now her mistress-  rode the mare to her new home, here she was put in a fine stable, the groom came over to  the mistress and asked the mares name. the mistress thought then called the mare Nora, this was the first name the mare ever took.

Nora was taken to America ,for some months she lived with her master ,he never rode the mare but kept her well fed and well groomed, once they had lived there for a year she was sold to a man in blue.

Her new home had many horses and many men, she was stalled next to a deep chestnut gelding (Granite) and another gelding who was a bay. Once she had got use to the place she was re-trained to do western riding.

The men in blue often went out but she was only used in the fort. One day a buckskin stallion (spirit) was bought into the fort,  4 days later Nora was running free ,lost and confused.
