Grey:

He was her father and the band stallion to their little herd. Gypsy always looked up to her father wanting to be just like him because he was always a strong and wise leader who did his best for his family and herd.

Shayla:

She was Gypsy’s beautiful and loyal mother. That stood next to her father without fail. Gypsy always believed that her mother was a strong and care mare. That always took in others thoughts and always tried to help them.

Alexander:

He is Gypsy’s older brother and the first stallion and guardian to be in the Sun Valley herd. He was also her best friend and the one she looked to for help but when she took a fancy to Ashes he left the herd leaving Gypsy heart broken and depressed to see him and Pearl leave

Pearl:

She was the first wounded mare to come into the herd. Both her and Gypsy became the best of friends easily. She fell in love with Gypsy’s brother and she was fine with that but she never expected to see both of them leave when Gypsy brought back a mate.

Ashes:

The stallion that stole her heart away and became to best leader to the herd. Even though he was tamed a horse at one point he still had many things to offer her in the end. He was wise and gentle with every choice he made. She is proud to call him her mate and when he was taken away from her she never took another mate. Her heart still belongs to him.

Prince:

He was the first of her lovely foals to be born. She loves very much but she believes he needs to have little more fun in his life. She is happy that he has taken to making his own herd but she wishes he would have stayed with his sister to help her.

Destiny:

She was the next born after Prince. She reminds Gypsy often of her mother who she misses deeply. She loves Destiny but after Ashes left she was never the same and often made her mother worry about her.

Aurora:

She was the last of the foals to be born. She looks most like her father and Gypsy often finds herself missing him but when as she watched this little one grew she found her to be the best to take over the herd and so Gypsy handed the herd now to her.

Golden:

Both her and her half sister was the first of the many foals to be born in the safety of the herd. She became close friends with Gypsy and as she grew up and even good friends with Aurora.

Chocolate:

Just like her sister she was the one of the first foals to be born in the herd. Unlike her sister she wasn’t very close to gypsy. However she does go to her for help when she needs it and even looks up to her.

Delightful:

This mare came to Gypsy with another mare who was just as pregnant as she was. She spilled her past to Gypsy and she took the mare in with no pause. Gypsy cares deeply for this mare as well as her child.

Bella:

She was the other mare with Delightful that came to the herd. They had both run away from a stallion that was cruel to them. She had never thought that she would be able to get over what had happened but with Gypsy’s help she able to life a better life.

Jaden:

This little one was the first grandfoal she had ever had. When this little guy was born Gypsy thought her daughter would want nothing to do with him but she was surprised and proud when her daughter took him on. Even though he had once been an unwanted child by his mother he is now loved deeply.

Acacia:

This little one came to the herd with her father Silver who was heart broken and simply lonely. Gypsy wanted to help them both and she let them in. With promised of safety and no fear.

History:

Gypsy was born to a buckskin mare by the name of Shayla. Her mother was very loyal and in love with her father Grey a handsome grey stallion who leads their little herd that was made up of her parents her and her brother Alexander. The herd did well for itself always knowing just how to stay out of the way so that the other band stallions don’t see them. Her child hood was rather peaceful with her father always keeping a close eye on the herd with her brother’s help. Gypsy was always watching them never missing a single thing that either of them did. She always dreamed of owning her own herd one day. This was something she knew she could do even though her reasons we a little different then what most were. She hated the thought that mares and their foals were always being pulled around. So she wanted to give them a place to be safe.

So she learned from her father and brother the ways to lead and protect a herd. Soon as she grew she began to help her father as well. She asked her brother many times if he would join her but he always told her he would think about it. She thought she would never get her answer from him. She had but all given up hope that her would and when the day came that she was going to leave. She looked to her brother who had a brilliant smile. Gypsy lit up knowing that he had finally given her an answer. He was coming along with her. With Tearful goodbye she gave her parents one last hug before Alexander and her went on their way.

In her travels to find a perfect place to call home for the herd she was to make she came across a beautiful palomino mare with scars. Right away Gypsy knew that the mare had been hurt by either a stallion or another mare. She offered the mare to join her herd. The mare was a bit unsure because of Alexander being there. It took Gypsy a bit to talk the mare into it telling her that Alexander was just there to protect the herd as a guardian and that really She was the one who was in charge. The mare finally agreed and spoke her name “Pearl.” Gypsy and Pearl became great friends that were always planning things together. All though Pearl still got jumpy around Alexander she soon had comfortable with him. Along the way Gypsy met two other mares one was one was a dark almost chestnut palomino and the other was a silver smoky black mare both of them were very pregnant too.

Gypsy took them in on the spot, both Bell and Delightful agreed right away knowing that It was safe to be in a herd then without one when one is expecting. This was Gypsy’s herd so small yet it was one that many knew right away. They were talked about in many other herds. Gypsy was proud and never thought she would have to move from the open plains that had been her home when she was younger but when humans were spotted on them Gypsy chose to leave. She leads the herd up the hills through the forest to a place hidden from the world among the trees and open meadow where a creek runs.

One day when Gypsy was out on a walk leaving her brother to watch the herd she walked outside the forest that protected the herd. Mile from it she found a ranch with horses that were beautiful and graceful with power. She had never seen anything like them One horse caught her eyes. A handsome dapple gray splashed stallion that always seem like he was enjoying himself. She soon saw humans coming and took off but she often came back to watch him from a far. She caught him once or twice looking out at forest with longing. She wondered if he wished to be free. One night she wondered down to speak with him. After learning that his name was Ashes she asked him. “Why do you stare out at the forest?” He was a bit surprised and even embarrassed but he answered her “Because I wonder what it would be like to run free.” Gypsy wanted to show him the world he was missing. She asked him to join her for a run and he agreed. She watched him jump the fence.

That night while showing the forest and even where her herd was she began to fall for him. She wanted him to be the band stallion she never thought she would need. Every night since she would have him seek out with her and they would enjoy the land together. One night on a full moon he surprised her by confessing that he was in love with her. Gypsy confessed back to him and asked him to be her mate. He agreed happily and that morning she brought him back with her to the herd. Alexander however was angry to find out that Ashes was a human horse. Gypsy and him agued about it and soon Alexander left but not only him her best friend Pearl went with him. She had become his mate and never told her. Gypsy was heartbroken by this and Ashes was there to help put it back together. Together they made three lovely foals. However, the happiness Gypsy had was about to come to an end. While Gypsy and Ashes left for a walk Ashes’ humans came for him having finally found out where he was. Ashes stepped forth telling Gypsy to run and lead the herd as she always had. With Tears in her eyes Gypsy tried to get him to run with her but he shook his head and told her once more to go. Finally she did and with one last look from them both she ran crying and heartbroken. It was the last time she ever saw him. The humans moved to a different place. Gypsy soon handed down the herd to the youngest daughter.
