Personality: She is sweet, gentle and kind, and is often very shy and timid around others. However, she is also impudent and insolent, mainly toward her sister Saxifrage, who blinded her and treats her like dirt.

History: Like her sister Saxifrage, she was born in a warren that looked down upon runts. Sax was the runt of her mother's litter, and was treated horribly for it. Flax wanted to stand up for her sister but was too nervous to do so.

     One day Saxifrage just up and left the warren, finally having had enough of the unfair mistreatment. None of the warren's residents thought much of it - until the day she came back. Sax (along with several other rabbits she had recruited for her newly-established warren of Nahlvao; "no hope") stormed in, killed the chief, and took the remaining rabbits back to her warren as prisoners.

     Once in Nahlvao, the fresh batch of prisoners was split up and brought to their guarded burrows. One individual who refused to go was killed where they stood. Another was also killed during evening silflay, for being off their mark; that individual was publicly sacrificed and fed to a fox who had allied with the warren. The new prisoners were horrified, none more so than Flax, once she saw that the leader of this hellish warren was her sister, Saxifrage.

     In the following days, Flax and the rest of the prisoners tried to be more careful to stay on their mark. Unfortunately, it wasn't enough to prevent a couple more from suffering a gruesome death at the jaws of the fox.

     One day her life changed, in a rather painful way. It was during morning silflay, and Flax had unwittingly stepped off her mark. She was forcefully led by two guards to her sister's burrow, then to a small ledge overlooking the prisoners. Her sister followed. Flax looked for a way to escape, but it was for naught. She knew her fate was sealed, and there was absolutely nothing she could do about it.

     Once on the ledge, the two guards pinned her down and held her head to the ground. Saxifrage stopped in front of her.

     "Let her up. I have something else in store for this one.", said Sax, and the guards complied. Sax pinned her sister against the wall. In a cold, menacing voice, Sax said to her sister,  "Anything you wish to say, sister?"

     "Why? W-Why are you doing this?", said Flax. Sax raised a paw, claws out,  and scratched one side of her sister's face and then the other, blinding her. Sax let go of Flax, who dropped to the ground, clearly in agonizing pain from the fresh scars on her face.

     "You should know, you were there. I was the runt of the litter, and was treated terribly for it. And neither you nor anyone did anything to stop it. All you did was watch my mistreatment. The day I left the warren, I had finally had enough of it! This is payback for all my days of undeserved cruelty. I suffered slowly but painfully. As shall you, Flax. ", Sax responded, then ordered the guards to take Flax back to her burrow, after taking her around the warren for viewing by the rest of the prisoners. And one officer had his sights set on her.

     The buck went to Sax's burrow after his guard shift was finished. "General...", he said, "With your permission, I would like to take a doe."

"Which one?", asked the General.

     "The one from earlier, the one that was blinded.", the buck replied.

"You may have her, Zorn. She is of no use to me.", said Sax, after a moment of thought.

"Thank you, General."
