History: Milo was the fourth pup born to Dingo and Cady. Growing up, he loved to explore and wander off, and his parents had to set out and find him more than once. At eight weeks, he was adopted by a young boy named Alex, and the two became best friends. Once Milo was trained a bit better, Alex’s family took him on a visit to Alex’s cousins, who lived in an Inuit village outside of Nome. There, he made friends with Ilannaq, the wolfdog that Alex’s cousins kept as a pet. Ilannaq was very fiery and mischievous, and thus she and Milo got into a lot of trouble together, though it was mostly because Ilannaq dragged Milo into it. One time, Ilannaq and Milo got into so much trouble that when Alex’s parents brought Milo home, they made Milo sleep outside for the night. Milo was angry at Ilannaq for dragging him into trouble and held a grudge against her for months.
When Milo was around a year old, his family brought him to the Inuit village to visit their relatives for the first time since he was a puppy. He wasn’t very thrilled to go; he wasn’t in the mood to see Ilannaq again. But when he reunited with her, he was surprised to find out how much she had grown up. She was no longer the pesky puppy he once knew, but instead a beautiful young wolfdog. However, Milo wasn’t convinced that she had changed that much, as Ilannaq had retained her fiery personality even into adulthood. Thus, he tried to ignore Ilannaq whenever he could, despite how beautiful he couldn’t help thinking she was. One day, Milo left the house to explore by himself and get away from Ilannaq. However, his precious alone time took a turn for the worst when a wolverine came out of nowhere and began to attack Milo. Milo was just about ready to accept his fate when all of a sudden, Ilannaq came out of nowhere and fought the wolverine off. It was then that Milo realized maybe Ilannaq had grown up after all. He thanked Ilannaq for saving his life, and decided maybe to give her a chance. For the next week that Milo’s family was staying in the village, Milo and Ilannaq got to know each other even better, and by the time Milo had to leave for Nome, they had fallen in love. Milo was sad to leave Ilannaq, but promised her he would visit her whenever he could.
