Suddenly, the elevator stopped. Mia barked loudly while Leah banged on the doors with her little paws.

They soon gave up and sat on the floor. Leah looked up. She saw an emergency exit. Mia looked up too. Mia gave Leah a boost and Leah pushed the roof panel out. She climbed up.

She stuck her paws out to get Mia. Mia jumped and grabbed on.

Leah pulled Mia up. They saw nothing. They looked around some more, then found a door that said "third floor". The elevator had gotten stuck after they just left the third floor. This time, Leah gave Mia a boost up.

Mia opened the door. Leah grabbed on to Mia's paws and Mia pulled her to the third floor door.

The two decided to take the stairs instead.

They thought of a funner way to go down stairs. Leah demonstrated what she meant. She got on to the railing and slid down. She laughed as she went down.

Mia got on the railing and slid down too.

When they got to the main floor, they rushed out the door. They saw the doctor still screaming. The doctor looked down. He screamed again, then stopped after he saw Mia and Leah. The girls laughed as they walked down the road.

A truck was headed straight for them. Mia and Leah ducked down and were under the truck. No damage was done to them. The girls kept doing that every time a vehicle drove by.

The girls saw an unusual ship at the dock. It looked like a pirate ship.

The girls came closer. The ship was held at the dock by a rope. The ship was huge close up. The girls grew excited. They climbed aboard and Leah imitated the captain of a ship. Mia acted like a pirate. Mia found two sharp swords. She handed one to Leah. The two girls had a big sword fight. In pirate movies, the pirates would always sword fight. The girls watched tons of pirate movies whenever they snuck into the theatres. Leah's sword accidently cut the rope holding the ship.

An angry looking pirate captain waved a fist at them. "That's me ship ya scurvy rascals!" he yelled.

The girls laughed and stuck their tongues out at the pirate dog.

Mia started steering the ship with the wheel. Leah was in the crows nest with a telescope.

As Mia were steering the ship for a long time, she heard footsteps. Leah caught a glimpse of pirate dogs and wolves, and not the nice kind. The pirates' fur were greasy and dirty, they had tattered, old clothing and some had long grey beards. Leah also caught a glimpse of a pirate with a crimson red bandanna around his forehead.

Leah saw some carrying boxes and crates of supplies.

Mia was still holding her sword from the sword fight. Leah picked up hers and climbed down to the deck. Leah warned Mia.

The pirates came around to the steering wheel area.

"We got 'em landlubber stowaways!" said the pirate with the crimson bandanna.

He pulled out his sword. The other pirates followed his commands. "Yarr! make 'em walk the plank! said a pirate wearing an eyepatch with a skull and cross bones on it. Leah and Mia were hiding their swords behind their backs waiting for just the right moment to fight them. "Get 'em!" yelled the pirate with the bandanna. The pirates pulled out their swords and were about to strike the twins. Mia and Leah pulled their swords out and started fighting the pirates.

It was an almost gruesome battle. Nobody was struck with a sword yet. Suddenly, Leah and Mia knocked all the swords out of the pirates paws. They quickly picked them up. They pointed their swords at the pirates. Instead, Mia and Leah made the pirates walk the plank.

The pirates must have hated being in water, for they screamed when they landed in it. Getting clean was their weakness, and Mia and Leah found that out quickly.

The sun was setting. Mia and Leah were hungry. Leah went and grabbed food from the kitchen for both of them. The ate quietly. They never spoke a word during dinner. Mia and Leah took turns steering the ship all night. In the morning, the two were exhausted.

Mia grabbed Leah and her something to eat.

They ate their breakfast, almost falling asleep. Leah let Mia rest and Leah steered the ship. The rocking sensation of the ship let Mia fall asleep faster because she found the rocking comfortable. After a couple hours, Leah went to sleep and Mia steered the ship. The two decided to take turns steering the ship and sleeping at night-time.

A couple days of traveling had passed and the weather was dreary. The clouds became darker and the chance of a storm grew higher.
