Personality:    Amber is a headstrong doe; it’s either her way or none. She never backs down from any challenge, is reckless and lives life to the fullest. She can be very happy and enjoyable to be around, as she is a pretty good story teller and likes jokes and sometimes pranks. When she was younger, she didn’t like just standing around, she always wanted to have something to do. She, however, calmed down a bit after becoming a mother.

She is interested in the human ways, but after an unlucky incident in a settlement of humans, she became very scared of them and refuses approaching man once she knows one is there.

Likes:  getting her way, spring rain, rainbows, flowers, observing man (when she was younger), her fawns, Angelo, talking with the other does, someone saying something bad about her or her family, running, telling stories, her friend Ciar

History:   Amber was born in small herd consisting of both white-tailed deer and mule deer. This led the two breeds to interbreed occasionally, so her mother was a mule deer, whereas her sire was a white-tailed one.

She grew up in pretty normal circumstances. Her mother cared for her and her siblings, her father remained far from her, since he had to take care of the herd. Most hinds of the group belonged to him, though not all of them.

When she was older, she discovered her interest in man and since there was a human settlement near the place where they lived, she sometimes sneaked off to go there. It was actually forbidden, but she did it, anyway.

But her interest in them was destroyed when she was around three years old. A buck whom she had grown up with, a good friend  and suitor of her, followed her one day when she was going there again. When he saw where she was going, he immediately confronted and yelled at her.

Unfortunately, this caught the attention of a man who lived there, a hunter. He shot at the strong young stag. The two deer immediately panicked and fled. They didn’t even know in which direction they ran, they were just too shocked to think about that. But they hadn’t run very far when the buck collapsed.

Amber desperately tried to make him get up, but he didn’t. He was fatally injured, and she was horrified by how he looked. She stayed with him until she could hear man coming closer and closer. Then, she fled, her friend’s death cry following her.

She soon noticed that she had not only lost her friend, she had also lost her orientation. She didn’t dare to go back, she never ever wanted to get near a human settlement again. So she did the only thing she could: wandering into the wild to find a new home.

She wandered for a very long time without finding a place to stay. She did, however, come across a very strange deer; he was tiny, only half as big as she was. He lay not very far away from a strange narrow clearing with a flat, unnatural dark grey ground. And he was injured pretty badly.

The small buck’s name was Ciar, and he told her his species was called roe deer. He told her that he had come from a faraway land and that he had been hit by a thing that was called “car” while crossing the strange clearing.

Amber took pity on him and nursed him back to health. She used a few herbs, as her mother had taught her about them. Although roe deer usually lived solitary, the two deer decided to stay together, Ciar out of gratefulness, Amber because she felt lonely.

Although Ciar was kinda moody and not very talkative, Amber really enjoyed his company and the two of them grew to be close friends.

One day, when they reached the borders of a forest, they ran into a stag named Angelo. He asked her why they were all alone without a herd, and she told him they were looking for one. Well, she was, but Ciar had told her that he would stay with her no matter if in a herd or not.
And he did when Angelo asked her if she would like to join his group of hinds. She gratefully accepted and really got along with the other does.

Ciar showed to get along with Angelo quite well and helped him with keeping an eye on the does and helped defend the herd. Angelo knew he wasn’t a danger for his position, the roe buck couldn’t even breed the does.

Amber over time had several fawns by Angelo. When she gave birth the first time, she had twins, her daughters Tea and Nayeli.

She loved her fawns and her herd, but she was worried when she found out Angelo was becoming more and more interested in humans, and more than once tried to talk him out of the idea.
