Personality:    Nayeli is a quiet, timid little doe. She’s rather small and hardly talks as all. She likes keeping close to her sister or her mother. She hates being all alone, as she often feels helpless and lonely when she is. She is very polite. But her quiet behavior hides that she actually is a quite smart and sharp in mind, knowing the solution on almost everything and being good at figuring things out. And just like her sister, Nayeli loves following Angelo around and asking him questions.

History:   Nayeli was born along with her twin sister Tea. She was the second to be born, with her sister a few minutes ahead of her. Nayeli was always the smaller one, daintier and weaker. She also had been born blind on one eye. Her mother didn’t really know where this came from. She had once been attacked by dogs during her pregnancy, but Angelo had saved her. Amber guessed that it was possibly because of that.

Right from the start, the two sisters were really close to each other. They kept each other warm while their mother hid them in a thicket and only returned every few hours, and when they were old enough to meet the rest of the herd, they always stayed together.

This was mainly because Nayeli didn’t want to be left alone, and Tea, on the other hand, wanted to keep an eye on her little sister to make sure she was okay. She did actually understand that something was wrong with her sister’s eye. Unfortunately, the other fawns did, too, but Tea was always quick to chase them off when they made fun of Nayeli.

But it still hurt the little doe a lot, and she hardly talked to the other fawns. Her mother also was very protective of her and always kept her second born daughter closer to her than she did with Tea, even when the sisters were older.

Nayeli didn’t go on adventures as often as her sister did, but she sometimes accompanied her when Tea went to follow Angelo. She loved spending time with her father, mainly because they didn’t meet him very often.

Over time, she also worked on making her other senses, like listening and smelling, stronger than other deer. Deer were already very good at it, it was the only thing that provided their survival, after all, but she wanted to be better than everyone else to make up for her partly missing eyesight. And it really worked after some time. She developed a true “hunter sense” and was almost always the first to notice man approaching.

She also got more confident over time, partly because of her sister who left her alone more often the older they got. It hurt her, of course, but her mother told her it was part of growing up.

She was devastated, though, when her sister went missing and almost begged Angelo to go searching for her when she told him that Tea was missing. When he brought her back home, alive and unharmed, she was overjoyed.

When Tea told her that she had met a buck she had fallen in love with, Nayeli was suspicious at first, but she didn’t want to ruin her sister’s luck and helped her getting away unnoticed quite often.

She herself continued growing up in her father’s herd and leading a peaceful life, learning about herbs and wanting to one day be a mother herself.
