Personality

Flinder is friendly towards everybody, so long as they are not dangerous - she has inherited her father's cheerful nature and is the most confident of Lughooey and Geeri's fawns, so welcomes harmless strangers quite warmly. Around new persons, she is attentive and helpful. 
Her confident spirit shows even more around those she knows well, for Flinder has inherited her father's bossiness, although unlike her father (who will order around almost anybody without a second thought) she only acts this way towards close acquaintances. Though very friendly, kind and helpful, Flinder likes to have things going the way she thinks best. Some of her friends may mind this; her siblings don't, knowing that Flinder's imperious character is usually a result of her sisterly consideration for them.

History

  The Beginning...

Flinder, eldest of a remarkable and rare birth of four fawns, was born to Lughooey, a buck from a far off nature reserve, and Geeri, the daughter of the Great Prince. Both Flinder's parents were members of the Silver Herd. Geeri had given birth to her fawns in her birth home territory, Bambi's Forest. 

Flinder's name was suggested to her parents by an owl who had witnessed the occasion of her birth.

Geeri was unable to give all four of her fawns the much-needed attention of a mother, what with her youngest Ammet being so worryingly small and requiring more care therefore; so a Silver Herd doe called Malia kindly offered to help out with feeding and looking-after. Malia already had a son called Fir, who was born the same spring as Flinder, and a daughter, Lyra, born a year-or-so previously. Flinder, seeing it her duty as Geeri's eldest, made the first steps towards befriending Lyra and Fir, and introduced them to her sisters and brother. The closeness between the two families still remains.

Flinder once visited Bambi's forest with her mother, the first time she ever went anywhere without her three siblings - it was quite a frightening experience for her, but at the time unavoidable, due to the arrival of Man ... Flinder and her whole family had been foraging outside Silver Herd territory when hunters appeared. Flinder fled in one direction with her mother, while her father Lughooey took Quova, Ammet and Jesien to safety. Following Geeri, Flinder went to reside in the territory of her uncle Prince Bambi, then the ruler of his home forest. She got the chance to meet the Prince, and also formed a firm friendship with Faline, Bambi's mate. When older, Flinder traversed the distance from the Silver Herd territory to Bambi's Forest on a seasonal basis to visit her mother's family, usually with her younger sibling Quova.
