I was reading on this one site about balto and it said that the animated
movie was created based on the story of real life balto an alasken malamute? could it be true that he WAS an alasken malamute in real life?
tell me what you think.

In the pictures of the real Balto he does'nt look like one, he certainly looks more like a husky to me and at the museum where his stuffed body is says he's a husky too.

There have been books saying he's wolf/dog, husky, and malamute. Personally I think he's a husky. He doesn't look anything like a malamute does.

From what I know Balto, in real life, was a husky.

I don't think Balto was Black colored, since the pictures that they took in the 1920's were Black and white. Unless it's the picture of his body in the Cleveland museum of natural history...

He was black with some white:

that's how he'd look in a colored pic:

And you can easly find other pics of Balto in the Cleveland museum.

Wow nice pics and well I thought he was an Alaskan Husky, not Malimute but he seems bigger then an averge Alaskan Husky tho, same with bigger then a Malimute and he looks diffrent from a Malimute, but hmm with that white he looks like part Samoid aswell, hmmm............
