Ilo shrugged and stopped his grooming to look at her. "Just thinking about my dad." He sighed. "And my mom." He murmured. "I'm the reason she left the pride, you know.' He growled softly, tears brimming his eyes. "My own father loved her more then he loved me, so he kicked me out of the pride a few days ago." He paused for a second. "I'll never forget the words he spoke when he chased me out."

"Oh well my father and mother both died and I was separated from my siblings when I was just a cub but I found them. Safari lives with me at Pride Rock, i'm sure you probably seen the dark orange lion with the dark red mane, and Sergei my other brother who lives in a different jungle is pure white and has a dark red mane.'' She then noticed tears at Ilo's eyes, she then went up to him and nuzzled him under his chin and into his slick big mane. "I...I'm sorry about what your father did to you...'' She whispered gently.

Ilo sighed and pulled away from her. "I deserved it though.... I'm the reason my own mother left the pride. And that's when my father started to hate me." He turned to look at Nuru. He pinned his ears back. "I gotta go." he muttered before bounding away back to Pride Rock.

(What if Ilo saves Nuru from some hyenas and their feelings become stronger?)"Ilo! Wait!.'' She called as she watched him run back towards Pride Rock. Nuru sighed and walked in a different direction even though Pride Rock was behind her.

He slowed his pace when he couldn't see Nuru anymore, and he settled down onto the warm grass. He sighed and rested his head on his paws. Ilo slowly closed his light brown eyes, his brown mane waving in the breeze.

Nuru gasped and turned around and thought someone or something was following her but she didn't see anything except the wind blowing little bits of dirt across the dry land. Nuru froze as she heard laughing and cackling noises coming from close by, "Well well well, lookie here. A lioness all alone.'' Shenzi said with the two others. Nuru growled and unsheathed her claws ready to defend herself if one of the hyenas tried to hurt her. "You're not as tough as you think you are little lioness.'' Shenzi then looked at Banazia "What do you think we should do with her?'' Nuru gulped slightly.

Ilo picked up his ears and pricked her ers when he heard snarling. He jummped up and heard cackling. He looked around until he pinpointed the sound. Nuru! He raced as fast as he could to where he last saw the lioness. Please let her be okay!

Nuru slashed her sharp claws as Shenzi went for her back leg but she was to late the three hyenas had her pinned to the ground, she shrieked in pain as one of them bit down hard on her paw causing blood to appear from the teeth marks on her front paw and back leg. She tried to get up but couldn't, she soon blacked out hearing laughing and cackling voices as they continued to rip her to shreds.

Ilo ran faster, the shrieks and snarls getting louder and louder. He burst through the brush to see three hyenas attacking nuru viciously. He let out a loud snarl and pounced onto one. He bit deep into its neck, and it gave a startled yelp. He let go and it raced away, while another growled at him. He glared at it, and they sprung at each other. It bit his front leg, and he snarled at it before swatting it away with his paw. It cried out and bounded aaway after the first one. He turned to glare at the last hyena, who gave him a death glare.

Nuru gasped for air and tried to stand up but she was in too much pain "I.. Ilo..'' She breathed while gasping for breath the pain was so intense that it almost made tears come out of her eyes but she couldn't cry in front of Ilo that would show her how weak she is she had to be strong enough to walk home even if it hurt so much for her to do so.

Ilo bounded over to Nuru's side. "You okay?" He exclaimed as he stood closer to her. "Lean against me, it'll help you out a lit." He whispered. "And it won't make you look weak. You need this help." He continued. The hyena cackled at them and Ilo whipped around to see it. "Back off." It snarled at him. "This will be settled!" It growled before it ran away. Ilo turned back to Nuru.

Ilo shrugged, suddenly feeling uncomfortable. "Just helping out a fellow pride member." He turned to face her. "I mean, we are pride mates aren't we? We are both living at Pride Rock." He continued.

Nuru nodded, "Yes we are.'' She said. She then went towards the front of him and gave him a lick on the right side of his cheek, ''You don't know how much this means to me for saving my life.'' She whispered in his ear.

Ilo chuckled nervously and blushed slightly. "It was n-nothing! Really!" He chuckled again, but his eyes softened as he gazed at Nuru. "It wasn't a problem, Nuru." He whispered.
