"Ugh...," Tawia sighed. "Why did Koman get to go? He's a cub!" Tawia looked up at Asali. "Asali, can you ask my mother if I could go?"

Bandia followed Dhukiya. She saw a huge rock next to the entrance of the tunnel. "Let's push this! It's the right size!"

As he and his sister followed Maliha, Kani noticed the light slowly disappearing.

He gazed at him warily, but responded anyways with narrowed eyes. "Shujaa Maarufu. And, I don't live alone," he responded, giving his short tail a flick.

Meanwhile, Moto had arrived at the log that would take him across to the Outlands. He paused, wondering if he should wait for reinforcements. According to Alika, there was more than one, probably the two lionesses and the hyena from earlier. He couldn't take them on alone. But then again, the others were still trapped. They could die. But, he gave a sigh, stopping anyways. He wouldn't be able to save them if the two lionesses and the hyena attacked, so what use would he be then? He'd have to hope Asali was quick and got backup soon.

"But Asali!" Tawia complained. "My brother is in danger! What if you had a brother who you loved so much and you found out he was in danger? You would do anything to help him!"

Asali bit her lip sighing even though as far as she knew she didn't have any siblings Tawia had a point "oh alright but don't get your hopes up" she said

"Thank you, Asali!" Tawia said and hugged her.
"What's going on?" Mara asked as she and her sister Kori walked towards them. "Have you two seen my son? Kori and I have been looking everywhere for him!"
"Mum, Kani is in the Outlands!" Tawia said and looked up at her mother.
"Why?" Kori looked at Asali, hoping she knew the answer.

Asali looked over at mara a slightly grim look on her face "him , kella , and maliha were trapped in a cave in as far as I know their fine we also believe someone deliberately caused the cave in" she said

"What?" Mara exclaimed. "Oh, I hope he's okay! And Maliha!"
"Mum, can I go with the others?" Tawia asked. "Taji, Moto, Alika and Koman are going to save them. Can I go along?"
"No, Tawia!" Mara shouted. "You are too young to go to dangerous places like the Outlands!"
"Mara, maybe you should her go," Kori suggested. "You must stopping acting like she's a few weeks old. Tawia needs to learn how to defend herself. This might be her chance to show her strength and bravery, that she is no longer a weak little cub."
"Well, there are three adults to protect you if something happens...," Mara sighed. "Alright, you can go."
"Thank you, Mum!" Tawia shouted. She turned around and ran into the Outlands. "Wait for me, guys!"
"Do you think this is a good idea?" Mara asked Asali.

Asali sighed looking over at mara with a small smile "to be honest I really don't know but kori's right mara you can't keep treating Tawia like she's a cub someday she's going to be a young lioness with little ones of her own" she said

Taji ran off to the border of the Outlands. He soon spotted Moto, who had just begun to cross the log.
"Hey Moto, wait for us," he called. "We have come to help."
"Let's get there quickly. Should we split up?"
"I think we're best as a group. We don't know how many of them there are and there is power in numbers."
Koman was just about to follow Moto, Alika and Taji onto the log when he heard a voice shouting behind him.
"Wait!" he shouted to the others as he realised who the voice belonged to. "It's Tawia!"
He ran to greet her. "I'm so glad you can come with us! I guess your mum said you could come."
She nodded, breathing heavily, so Koman decided to take her onto the log to cross into the Outlands.
Once they were on the other side, Taji decided to take charge. "We'll take this path," he said, taking the left fork. "There are fresh tracks, which means it's more likely to be this direction."
He set off at a brisk walk, taking time to sniff the air for Maliha, Kani or Kella's scent. "I hope their alright," he whispered to himself.

Maliha's heart sank as the light faded. "No," she whispered quietly to herself. "NO!" she repeated in an angry shout. "The light, it's gone!"
She felt so bad for taking Kani and Kella to the Outlands and now she felt even worse after her plan failed again.
"Sorry for letting you guys down," she said. "Let's try to head back to where we were. Our only plan now is to wait to be rescued."

Moto followed them, narrowing his eyes as he scoped out the place. He kept to the back of the group, his tail flicking warily as he studied their surroundings, letting King Taji take the lead. As they moved further, Moto felt himself tense up. He had been to the Outlands, sure, but something about it this time felt...wrong. He kept his eyes open and his ears pricked to pick up any sign of enemies.

"But what if someone doesn't come? We'll be trapped forever!" Kella said and lay down.

"I hope nothing bad has happened to Kani and the others," Tawia frowned. But then she looked at Koman and smiled. "I'm really interested in that roar thing you did, Koman. How did you do it? Cubs can't roar!"

Maliha felt guilty and ashamed of her actions, but now the fear really took over. She sat down, facing away from Kani and Kella and began to cry. "Help us!" she roared, pitifully.

"I think I heard Mufasa call it the 'Roar of the Elders'," said Koman. "I think it is a gift that I can use to help protect the Pridelands. I have a feeling I may have to be using it quite soon in order to rescue Maliha, Kani and Kella."
"Shh," said Taji, sharply. "Everyone listen..."
Alika pricked up her ears and listened carefully. It sounded like crying. "Maliha!" she cried.
"Be quiet, Alika," said Taji. "Yes, I can hear the crying, and as much as it pains me to ignore the cries of my sister, there is something else there too, something we need to be wary of."
Taji turned and focussed back on the sound.
"It sounds like hyena laughter."
Every muscle in Alika's body tensed. "You think the hyenas are back..? But I always thought they were good. You told me that they soon saw the Circle of Life in Jasiri's clan many years ago."
"Well, obviously they're back, and changed for the bad."
"No, wait!" interrupted Koman. "That's not everything! I can hear lionesses as well. They're probably the same ones that attacked us earlier."
Taji heard the lionesses now, as well as the hyenas and the crying from within a nearby cave. He braced himself for an imminent fight."
