"We were in there for quite a while. We tried to escape out the back, but they got there before us and blocked of the exit. We'd just got back to the entrance when you can to our rescue."

Then Maliha noticed the Lion Guard mark on Tawia's arm.
"Congratulations on getting into the Guard!"

Maarufu noticed the male's panic, and smirked, straightening up from his rigid fighting stance to a more relaxed position. "Oh, what's the matter? Got too wrapped up in somethin'?" he asked in a mocking tone as he flicked his tail. Hopefully, this other hyena would leave, and he'd go on with his search for food. His stomach growled once more, bitterly reminding him of Beki's failure and how he had to take charge in finding his own food.

"Moto I wanted to apologize for what happened" asali said looking down at her paws. She didn't want him to be mad at her but she didn't really know how to say it, what taji had said came back to haunt her *you'll get to spend time with him* she shook her head willing the thought to leave her mind. Like Moto would willingly do something like that.

He grunted in reply, looking over his shoulder once more in search of any enemies. When he turned back, he cast a quick glance at Asali before looking away quickly. But, he did a double take as his green eyes scanned her expression of sadness. He felt a small pang of sympathy for her. He didn't want to appear soft, so he straightened up once more, though he did offer her words to show he was no longer angry. "Meet me by the waterhole for your first training lesson tonight after the sun goes down. That is, if you don't have other duties to attend to."

"I don't actually" asali replied relieved that he was hopefully not mad with her anymore. Letting a warm smile find it's way across her face she came up beside him nuzzling into his side she leaned up licking his cheek in thanks. "Thank you" she said smiling up at him warmly her tail coiling around his before realizing what she was doing and stepping away "uh ... Sorry" she said shyly not looking at him in the eye

He looked at her strangely, feeling a strange, warm sensation in his chest. Ignoring it, he gave a grunt, pausing to raise a paw to wipe his cheek. He wasn't very used to physical contact unless it involved claws and teeth being thrown at one another, and this certainly wasn't it. Though it confused him, he felt...slightly happy as well.

Asali looked around realizing that the rest of the group was ahead of them. "Come on let's go before they leave us behind" Asali said walking ahead of Moto to catch up to the others her tail swaying from side to side in a rhythm as she walked humming to herself. As she caught up to the others Asali couldn't help the smile that found it's way over her face as she thought of spending time with Moto later that night

He followed after, but made sure to keep near the back of the group, in case those lions wanted to follow them. He looked over his shoulder every now and then to assure himself that they were indeed safe as they made their way home. He felt tense, but relieved that the cubs had made it all back safely, and that the Lion Guard was now up and running. He knew that with what life had to throw at them that the more lions they had guarding the Pridelands, the better.

Asali sighed in relief as pride rock came into view. All she wanted to do at the moment was go into her den and rest up before she had to meet up with moto. Looking behind her she blew out a breath when she couldn't see him. "Oh well" Asali thought as she climbed up the slope of rocks towards her den to sleep

"Hey, Maliha, can I have a word?" asked Alika.
"Sure sis! What's up?" Maliha replied.
"I was so scared today because of you and I don't want to leave knowing that you might put yourself in danger again."
"Wait, hold up a second. What do you mean 'leave'?"
Alika shifted uncomfortably on her feet. "I feel like I need to get away from the Pridelands. Find my own Pride, start afresh, find love."
"But there's so much here..."
"You have Kani, but me, I have no one. I need to go, Maliha."
Maliha started to cry. "When?"
"Now," Alika said, licking Maliha's cheek. "I promise I'll return."
"You'd better!"
Alika started to run. "You must promise me that you won't tell anyone until a few days time! I don't want anyone coming to find me. Give everyone my love!" she called over her shoulder.
"I promise!" Maliha called after her. She was glad she was alone, so no one could see her cry.

After the encounter with the other male hyena, Maarufu had decided to head back to the den he shared with Beki. Empty jawed, mind you. He was made to be a fighter, not some servant for Beki, who just had to get hurt. Grumbling, he entered the graveyard, not sparing the large elephant skeletons a second glance as he weaved in and out. Soon, he came to the rib cage they had called home. Squeezing between the bones, he came upon his 'leader', who was currently snoozing.
Hearing his struggle, she pricked her ears and lifted her head. She blinked to get rid of the blurriness before noticing his lack of food. "I thought I told you to fetch food!" she growled, sitting up. She kept her back leg close to her body, seeing that she had strained it while chasing some prey the other day.
"Hey cool off, will ya? I ran into some trouble," he replied, shaking his pelt. "Some annoying fleapelt with a pack," he added, sitting down. "I couldn't risk it, had to come back," he continued.

Maliha nuzzled Kella. "In the meanwhile, we should remain strong for her, and for the rest of our Pride. Agreed?"

"I suppose she couldn't find what she was looking for here." Maliha hung her head and sighed. "I'm her twin, so I feel responsible for her running away and making her unhappy, but I'm happy here. I just hope she can find happiness wherever she's headed." Maliha suddenly felt an urge to find Kani and to hold him tight. "Excuse me, Kella, but I'm going to find Kani."
Maliha left the lioness and ran back towards Pride Rock. She searched for Kani everywhere, but couldn't find him.
