Yes! Really excited for this roleplay.

Name: Jacelyn Travis
Nickname: Jace
Gender: Female
Age: 15
Powers: Telepath/Telekinetic
Personality: Loyal and incredibly stubborn, it can be hard to turn her away from anything once she has her mind set on it. Eventually, she will see sense if she was wrong, but only after a while of intense arguments. She can be a little impulsive, racing into things without fully thinking them through, but is able to reign herself in if reminded to do so. She would do absolutely anything for her friends and family, and can be viewed as somewhat overprotective. Though she tends to be a bit fiery, Jace has a gentle side that will come out in certain situations.
History: Her parents died in a car wreck when she was 11, and Lily only 4. Jace basically cared for Lily as the two sisters were passed from orphanage to orphanage, until they were eventually adopted by a young couple who was unable to have kids of their own, and who happened to somewhat know their parents, though not very well. Jace grew to care for them, but is still unable to call them Mom or Dad, unlike Lily, who calls them that all the time, and still uses her last name inherited from her parents rather than her adopted parents' last name. Jace had a fairly average life other than that, but she does tend to be careful with not growing incredibly close to too many people, afraid to lose someone again.
Siblings/Relations: She has a little sister, Lily.

Appearance: Jace has dark hair that always manages to look scruffy and somewhat messy, no matter what she does to it, resulting in her often tying it up to get it out of her face. She has a few freckles across the bridge of her nose, hidden some by her sun-tanned complexion. Her eyes are a light brown that look almost amber when hit a certain way by the sun. She is a bit small for her age, but also stronger than she appears.
Other: She wears a small silver locket containing pictures of her parents inside, often tucked inside her shirt, hidden from view.

Nickname: He would prefer you NOT call him 'Lou', but it'd be hilarious if you did anyway. (Jus' throwin' that out thar.)

Powers: Superhuman strength, amplified hearing and smell, and semi-shapeshifting abilities (his history includes some genetic mutation that he inherited from a few lines back that had to do with the splicing of canine [coyote to be precise] and human genes). He prefers to use swords for battle, but if pushed enough, he will use his powers.

Personality: Calm, usually quiet, incredibly bright, Louis isn't one for getting into a fight, or even trouble in general if he can help it. He's a straight 'A' student who's only weakness is technology which seems to be out to get him. (I swear to Cass, Hunt, this was a complete coincidence that he's basically opposite your char in personality. xD) His loyalty would seem blurred as he doesn't seem like the 'social butterfly' type, but given the chance, he'd be willing to show his worth.

History: He doesn't remember his parents. Or much of his past in general. That doesn't bother him though. He was raised by a 'step-father' who he simply refers to as 'Jack', and doesn't question it. Sure he wonders, but Jack would always change the subject, so he doesn't bother trying to get anything out of him anymore. The two lived peacefully in Arizona for a good portion of Louis's life. He was always outside and practicing sword play (trained by his step-father). But then because of work, they had to relocate to the big apple. Louis didn't like it, but doesn't show much. They've been living there for about seven years at this point, and he's grown fairly used to the loud city with it's busy sidewalks and little fresh air. He constantly walks to the park to meditate or just to get some peace again.

Appearance: Short, light redish-brown hair that always looks ruffled. His build would appear scrawny (as well as shorter) than the average 16 year old, but his arms are strong. He has eye problems from an unknown event as a child that forces him to wear glasses, and his eye color is yellow-green. He has the occasional scar from outside play when young, most on his arms and legs and are never seen, but one runs around his hand from a barbed wire incident.
His alternate form makes him about a foot taller, looking very well built, and some muzzle and other slight canine features in his face. His legs become a bit digigrade with his heal off the ground. His canine teeth although abnormally large as human, become longer in this form.

Other: He doesn't have a lot of possessions or accessories. The only thing he'll ever carry on him or wear are his swords. When in public (which would be rare as they're kept at home), they're contained in what looks like a rolled up poster sleeve. The swords themselves are made from a strong metal that's purple, green, and blue in color. One about 6 inches shorter than the other. (Based of a set I really own. I'll post pics at some point for visual. xD)

Trey Fargo, although he somehow managed to make average grades in school, was again nodding off as the teacher droned on and on about whatever subject they were in (what it was, he had no idea, since he had at one point entirely daydreamed his way out of school). He glanced towards Jace, the stubborn yet loyal friend. He then chanced a look at Louis, who he was not entirely sure about yet. Louis seemed nice enough, though being entirely the opposite of Trey, it was a bit hard to distinguish whether he was a good friend or not. Trey supposed that with time, he could become a great ally, but he could also sense that it would take a lot of time to gain all of Louis's trust.

Bored out of his mind, Trey returned to his blank state, unconsciously tapping his fingers on the wooden desk he was seated at. It took all of two minutes for him to get shocked by static again, which had happened several times this week and was becoming increasingly annoying. Trey recoiled when this happened, though he did his best not to make a sound or cause a commotion. He stared at his fingers in very slight surprise. He couldn't see how he could get shocked by static by a wooden desk... when there was tile on the floor and all. Perhaps there was metal somewhere around. Either way, he returned to his blank state again since nothing seemed out of the ordinary.

Jace could practically see the boredom rolling off of Trey in waves. The lesson wasn't all that interesting, something about the fall of the Ming dynasty. Whatever it was, the history teacher had succeeded in putting almost everyone into some state of drowsiness. Quite a few students had their heads on the desk, snoring gently as they slept. Jace couldn't help but envy them; she wanted to fall asleep too. She had been kept up, once again, half the night by the insitent headaches that continued to get more and more frequent.

She supposed she should tell someone, especially since the pain was sometimes bad enough where she simply curled into a pitiful ball and tried not to cry. But Jace couldn't bring herself to ask her guardians (they were NOT her parents) for help, and Lily was too young to offer any assistance. Besides, the weren't that frequent, though it had been happening more and more often. Jace wasn't dead yet, and that was enough for her to decide not to tell anyone.

Jace frowned as she saw Trey jerk a little, fingers retreating from the surface of the desk like he had been stung. She opened her mouth to ask if he was alright, but winced herself as a sharp stab of pain flashed through her head. Rubbing her temples, Jace silently pleaded it wouldn't develop into anything worse. Not now, in the middle of class. If she could just make it to the end of the school day, she'd be fine.

Shaking it off, Jace leaned closer to Trey. "You okay?" she asked in a quiet whisper, a hint of curiosity and concern in her light brown gaze.

Although not bored with the subject, Louis jotted down the notes on the topic at hand only half-heartedly. He already knew the material, and only took notes for the extra credit. The looks and comments he got from some classmates tempted him sometimes to not be so uptight about his education, but wanting to enter the field of science someday meant grades that were a bit above ordinary. It was his ambition to be like Jack, and live in his world. One of discovery and a hope for mankind with the finds of cures to disease or world hunger.

The teacher asked a question to the class, and like always the room was more silent than a boneyard. Which meant she called on her 'pet' (as he was often mockingly referred as by other students). "The Manchus." Louis replied in his usual laconic and deadpan tone. This caused the part he hated most about school. His sensitive ears picked up whispers of sneering comments about him. Not many appropriate to even put into detail. That's when he'd try to cover his ears, ignore them, or even try humming to himself if no one else noticed. But as always, it failed.

Feeling very annoyed but not showing it, he went back to taking notes and re-reading what he had already written. When Jacelyn asked Trey if he was alright, he about snapped and shot her an angry glance. After it registered a little late what she had said and realizing it was a question of concern and not a snide comment, he tried to soften his features and bury himself back in his notes, while silently hoping she wasn't paying attention to him to begin with.

Trey seemed a bit dazed when he finally realized that Jace had asked him whether or not he was okay. He nodded quickly, allowing a grin to pass his lips as he said, "Perfectly fine." Although he was partly lying, he even believed it himself. Getting shocked by static was normal. Although he seemed to get shocked by it more often than most people, there was no reason to call the big guns for it, was there? Besides, as Trey looked upon his friend's face, he seemed to notice that Jace looked a bit... riled up, for lack of a better term. "Are you?" he asked mildly. He knew that even if something was indeed wrong, Jace was hardly likely to talk about it. Still, it couldn't hurt to try.

He also noticed Louis from the corner of his eye. He felt like saying something to the poor guy. The teacher always called on him when the rest of them wouldn't budge, and he always got the snide remarks from the others because of their laziness. Of course, he wasn't too keen on answering the questions himself to save Louis the trouble, but at least he preferred not to trash others behind their backs... it wasn't truly his style. He preferred to trash the principle's office much more than other people themselves. He made a mental note to talk to the guy later. Who knew, perhaps he may even grow to like him. For now, he was focused on Jace's answer, and getting through the most boring class of the day.

"Yeah," Jace said, shrugging as if her horrible headaches were no big deal. "Just a small headache. No biggie." She scolded herself silently for even saying that much. Why mention a headache that really wasn't a big deal? There wasn't a reason, other than the idea that Jace might actually be worried. But she wasn't worried. Was she?

"I'm fine," she added, giving Trey an easy smile. She then glanced over at Louis, a frown creasing her face. "Don't listen to them," she said to him in a soft whisper. "They only say that because they've never gotten an answer right in their life." She flashed him a quick grin.

If Louis was one to be embarrassed, he'd be turning shades of red. Why would she talk to him? He didn't think anyone even cared. He couldn't help but reflexably give half a smile in return. He continued staring at his notes but nodded a reply just the same, too afraid to say anything and get in trouble. The semi-smile was gone almost as fast as it was on his face as he pushed his dark blue glasses further up his face, even though it wasn't needed. A nervous habit he had. When the bell rang, he couldn't get out of there fast enough. Stuffing his things in his bag, he flug it over his shoulder and looked for a quiet corner of the school to hide in until his hearing returned to normal. All the while thinking, "Just when I thought there was no justice in this world... Maybe there's hope for it yet."

Trey nodded hesitantly, unable to decide whether or not he should breach the subject of her headaches. Pain was not something Jace usually mentioned, and the fact she mentioned it at all was something huge. It couldn't have been anything more than him getting shocked all over the place, though, so in the end he decided against asking. He knew Jace better than a lot of other people, and if there was one thing that was definite, it was that she didn't give up "need to know basis" information without a fight. He simply eyed her for a few more seconds as he followed her gaze towards Louis. He tried giving a friendly smile in return, but the dude just seemed to be too off to do anything more than nod as a thanks. Well, at least it was a start.

As the bell rang, Trey was overjoyed. One class left and he planned to cut the first half. Once in the hallway, he turned towards Jace and said slyly, "Hey, wanna come hang out in the principal's pad?" With the tiniest of snickers he finished off, "A few seniors paid some big bucks first period just to get their grades to a C average." He rummaged through his pockets for about fifteen seconds before finally pulling out four five ten dollar bills. He put one in her pocket as he eyed the crowd, searching for another face. Finding it automatically, as he looked back at Jace, said "Keep the change," and headed towards Louis. Trey wasn't entirely sure whether or not Jace would come, but he certainly hoped she would, for it would make this all the more fun.

When he found Louis, he put his arm around his shoulder in a friendly sort of way and said, "Louis, my man. How would you like to cut class and help me out with a little something? It'll be fun as heck and there's rewards." He brought out a second ten dollar bill and waved it in front of Louis's face, perching it gently on his shoulder and he released him. In all honesty, Trey wasn't trying to be mean at all, even though that's probably what most of the students would have done just to make fun of this kid. The difference between Trey and them was that he didn't let a good friend go easy. It may take him a while to sort the good people from the thieves, but when he managed to do it, it was hard to shake him off. Either way, he wanted to get to know Louis because he felt he could be an amazing potential friend and ally. Showing him that it was good to have fun once in a while was just the first step.

Despite the money, Jace's initial reaction was to think that what Trey was planning wasn't exactly the right thing to do. Guilt pricked at her momentarily, but then she shook it off. It would irritate her guardians (she absolutely refused to call them her parents) and that meant she would most likely do it. Trey dashed off before she could respond though, leaving a dollar bill in her pocket. Jace didn't bother trying to chase him down; she would see him soon enough anyway.

While Jace wasn't a troublemaker by nature, necessarily, she didn't get along very well with her guardians. She tried to stay out of trouble at school, but at times, she would do stuff like this, but only in a group. She had found punishment usually wasn't as severe when it was a group of people doing it. Which is why she would be going with Trey, and, noticing who he was talking too, apparently Louis as well. Jace was certain this would be interesting.

Louis about stumbled at the shock of being addressed with an arm over his shoulder. Taken by surprise, he started to say 'what did you have in mind', but only got as far as "What-" out before realizing what Trey was insinuating. "I don't think so." His expression grew serious and a bit cross. He didn't like trouble, and would avoid it at all costs. Frowning at the bill that was waved in front of his face, he took it and stuffed it firmly into Trey's palm. Searching his classmates face quick, he wondered why he even bothered trying to talk to Louis. He didn't really know the guy, and they would never be able to click as friends. They were polar opposites plain and simple. "Thanks though." He then continued to walk off towards the men's room to get away from the noise as his hearing still hadn't settled.

Trey blinked twice in surprise, though he quickly got over it. He would have been more than a fool not to at least half expect this response from Louis, and hurried over to cut him off from his intended path. He eyed Jace from his vantage point, smirked in his devious way, and gestured for her to come on over. It would be a whole lot easier convincing this guy to join them when he had his friend to help. "Come on! It'll be fun. Seems to me you've never done a bad thing in your life. How do you know you won't like it if you've never tried it?" As he finished talking, Trey seemed to be absent-mindedly folding and unfolding the ten dollar bill, as his habit again began to unfurl itself. He just had to have something in his hands, or else he twitched some way or another.

Consciously, though, he was looking at Louis expectantly, wondering just what else it could take to persuade him on the likely change he refused the offer again. This would be a lot harder than Trey had first anticipated... usually it was so easy for him to ask someone to help, no matter what their grade stature or personality. It was his personal gift as a smooth talker. Jace was different, as she was his friend and she knew his ways. She never fell for that stuff anymore, and Trey had stopped trying to persuade her to do anything long ago. Now he simply asked and had to hope she'd tag along. His mind searched frantically for new excuses, and even as Trey racked his brain for another possible technique, in the back of his mind was the strange thought of what his motives could have been. Friendship, of course, though he rarely did this with most people... Jace had (thus far) been the only exception. Perhaps Louis would be added to the list.

Jace came over, giving Trey a friendly smile even as she punched him lightly in the arm. "C'mon, stop pressuring the guy," she scolded lightly, not sounding entirely serious, but meaning it anyway. She then glanced at Louis. "Sorry about Trey," she said good-naturedly. "You don't have to come if you don't want to. We just thought you might want to join us. I don't usually do this stuff either though." She gave him a friendly smile, trying to calm him and put him at ease.

Pushing the center of his glasses gently, Louis stared in disbelief at Trey. It was all he could seem to do while the hallway noisily and slowly emptied of students and staff. He covered an ear momentarily while he organized his thoughts, but it wasn't doing him much good. Dropping both hands to his sides, he started to realize he was growing frustrated. Not only by the noise, but by the stress of the situation. He was never against having friends, but the people who seemed to want to get to know him, always went about it wrong. And Trey wasn't being much different. He couldn't read his intentions at all, but the fact that he wanted to break rules and skip class went against everything he was trying to achieve.

As Jace walked over to reassure him and give him that comforting smile, he felt he could breathe easier, but his mind was still made. As the bell rang for the next class to start, he felt rushed and annoyed again. Being so much as late rubbed him wrong. "Look... I don't really find getting in trouble 'fun'. But you guys enjoy yourselves, a'right?" He clapped Trey gently on the shoulders and returned a smile to Jace (that he couldn't help but feel was very half-hearted), before changing route to the science lab. Not more than five steps away though, he turned and added, "If you really want to socialize, why not lunch? I'm not missing my favorite class. Sorry."
