Well, I don't want this fourm [TLK] to be dead, so here's a new topic.
Do any of you remember the first time you saw The Lion King? What was it like? What made you like it? When I first saw it was magical for me. I loved the singing, I cried at the death, and I loved the animation.

The movie came out when I was only a year old.
So, it's kinda always been there for me to watch, just like any other classic Disney movie.

I wasn't even born when TLK came out, but I first saw it in 2003 I got it for Christmas. When we moved to this house, I remember singing along to "I just can't wait to be king" and I always laughed when Simba pounced Zazu. Ahh....good memories. Now here I am 6 years later browsing the LKS forums.

I really do remember the first time I saw TLK! ^^ It was the best and first movie I have ever watched in my whole entire life. ^^ When I watched it, it took my breath away! It just caught my heart the first time I saw it. I love it so much, and I will never loose my love and passion for TLK. I'm not exactly sure what made me like it, but I know the story line was very appealing to me. :) I beliave I saw TLK when I was about 4-5 years old on VHS tape. lol

I saw it in 94 in theaters. It was even re-released and I saw it again that winter. I remember we almost were going to be late to the theater the day we chose to go and I was like "nooooo faster car faster". I was seven at the time. XD
I was able to see the second re-release in the IMAX, boy that was neat. It's funny cause in that LARGE of a theater you can see the lines they didn't clean up and such or that got left behind. Like a number or two down in the corners.
TLK replace 101 Dalmatians and Aladdin's place in my most favorite movies up till I hit middle school just about.

I was about two or something. I didnt get any of it at the time (Cuz I'm slow like that) watched it a few years later and understood it that time. I only ever watched it on DVD/VHS though. I bacame obsessed when I was five though, I ended up rooting out my young simba plush a couple of weeks ago (Its wrapped in tape for some reason...)

Lets see here; I was about two weeks old when the movie came out. Though my parents bought it shortly after the release, so It was the first movie that I watched, and I was gaga over it.

I still have the old original VHS tape that I grew up with. My Mom was going to throw it out, but I was like, "no! I grew up with that! I'm not throwing a perfectly good VHS tape away!" (I have a VCR in my room and it plays like a charm.) Considering I watched lionking five times in one day back then. I used to have alot of lionking merchandise back then. It just kinda disapeard over the years. Only the VHS remained. Still as of now, I have some minor merchandise: Baby simba plush, young simba plush, adult jumbo size simba plush, pillow case, and that creepy figure.

the frist time i saw TLK, i was 9 years old, we (me and my parents) saw it in a cinema at downtown at night, the cines at downtown were incredibly big, beautiful (the walls full of lighs and paintings). Today here the is only cines are at shopping centers which are smmaler and don´t care about the beauty of the place.

Another nostalgic thing i remeber when i saw TLK frist time was that, like always in my family, we arrved late in the cine (today you can´t acess the room if the movie already started) when we entered in the room, it was in the song "I just can´t wait to be king", so, r we don´t lose the begining part of themove we waited for the next session, ( in that time, you didn´t need to leave the room after the movie finished, you could spend your entire day at the cine if you wanted) but there were problem, the next session was of TLK Subtitled! and so, my parents needed to translate it for me until the part where we had lost. (also today there is no more "for child movies" in cines subtitled)

So for me it was quite nostlgic the frist time i saw TLK

I saw it in theaters, I was 10 years old. I actually got to see it *for free* with my school class! I sure was happy. I still remember how I felt when I saw Timon & Pumba for the first time (don't know why, but that's the main thing I remember from then)
I also remember that at the time, no one believed that it would be such a success, it was just "another Disney film".

That was 15 years ago...*sigh*

I got the VHS a few years later, and at the time it was my second favorite, after Basil of baker street - I used to watch these again and again...
