Shenkin cried. "... I... I guess I'll always be your best friend too... But where do I go?" he asked, scared with tears still in his eyes. Having Katie adopt him wasn't even on his mind, he wouldn't be able to bare it and they both knew it.

"There's a pack nearby that were friends of your pack," whispered Sakak. "I know a dog or two, some souls I saved from their deals with Red, they'd be willing to take him in."

Lena gave a small smile, despite her tears. "... Is momma ok?" she asked, not knowing what happened since she passed out.

Cachen nodded, looking to his papa and Lena. "I think Lena has a good idea..."

Jenna nodded, looking back. "I can see why it's not always a good thing to do this, but I'm glad it was done here. Seeing a wolf get their second chance is a beautiful thing."

"Somewhere safe. And I'll always be around, so it's not like I'll never see you again." Katie said, nosing his cheek gently. "You have a choice; there's a pack who could take you, friends of our's. Or there's a pair of dogs who'd be just as happy to have you."


Kodi nodded. "We're all going to be just fine now. Momma had her leg fixed."

Tai and Kai both nodded to that.


"If I could, I'd give everyone a second chance. But sometimes, you can't." Anabelle said, shaking her head.

Shenkin sniffled. "The wolves..." he said, prefering his own kind. "Promise you'll visit? I don't want you to go away forever..." he said, his adult self's deep seated fear still holding true.

Lena peeked over. "Good... Whose the puppy?"

Cachen ran over and practically tackled his father, licking his face.

Jenna nodded. "Well at least Sakak keeping Red in dept gives some a second chance, right?" she asked, though she didn't know the specifics, or much about Red.

"I promise. I won't leave you alone." Katie said and nuzzled him. "I'll even take you there myself, okay?" she said, hoping to make him feel better.


"Shenkin." Kodi said softly, before almost falling over. He licked Cachen's head gently.He grunted when Tai came over and nuzzled him, and even Kai nudging him softly.


Anabelle nodded. "Right. I'm very glad some of them get second chances."

Shenkin looked up at her. "... Then I'll be ok..." he said, finally stopping crying. "... I guess I can't call you little dove anymore..."

Cachen looked to his sister. "Sakak turned him into a puppy so he has a second chance to grow up right."

Lena blinked. "He can do that?"

"That reminds me," said Sakak, taking out an amulet and splitting it open, letting out about ten souls, five of which returned to their bodies, the others begging Anabelle for forgiveness. "Red's newest payment."

Jenna looked to Belladonna. "So you're half angel, half demon?" she asked, watching Belladonna's demon half melt the snow that touched it while her angel half didn't effect it at all.

"Why can't you?" Katie asked with a wink. She giggled.


"He can apparently do that with permission." Kodi said.


Anabelle smiled at the souls. "Now, I have to go. Thank goodness all of this is over." she said. A small light opened up, and she and the spirits vanished.


Belladonna watched her cousin leave. "Yea. Pretty much." she said, grimacing at her paws getting muddy. She floated up. "This is why I like to fly."

Shenkin smiled. "Alright..." he then looked to Kodi and the pups. "Is that your family?"

Lena blinked. "So he doesn't remember hurting momma like he did or going crazy or anything?"

Sakak nodded. "Belladonna is Chaotic Neutral as far as the big wigs are concerned," he explained. "I know, I know, we do mostly good, but that's our offical alignment."

Jenna blinked. "Confusing... But interesting. Glad to have you both on ourside instead of against us though."

Katie looked up and smiled. "Uh-huh, it is." she said, her tail wagging slowly.

"Not at all. And your Mom wants it to stay that way." Kodi said, smiling at his children. But, he frowned after.


"I'll tell you what Chaotic is: my look. It's jumbled and crazy- but it kinda suits me." Belladonna grinned.

Shenkin walked up to Kodi. "... Please make Katie happy, alright? She means everything to me and all I want is for her to be happy... Promise you'll make sure she's happy?"

Sakak kissed her. "And I wouldn't have it any other way," he said, smiling wide as he nuzzled her.

"Love is an interesting thing, isn't it Balto?" asked Jenna, leaning against her mate as she watched Sakak show love to his.

Katie blinked, and looked at Shenkin. A blush came over her face, tears lining her eyes. But she smiled, even chuckled a little.

OOC: Wait for it... *deep breath* AWWWWW!

Kodi blinked in surprise, eyes wide. But, he smiled, looking up to his mate. And he nodded. "I'll make sure she gets everything she deserves and more."



Belladonna smirked, kissing back. "Well aren't you sweet." she grinned.

Balto nuzzled back, nuzzling her head under his. "Very. But I wouldn't have things any other way."

Shenkin nodded. "Good..." he said, then looked to the pups. "Hi... I'm Shenkin... Want to play?" he asked, trying to at least befriend Katie's family if he couldn't be in it.

Lena nodded, but then noticed the sun setting. "Sure, but we've got something important to do first," she replied, giving a smile. She then tugged Kodi's tail. "Come on Papa! Hurry!"

Cachen ran to his mother. "Can you walk? We've got something we want to show you! It's important!"

Jenna nodded. "Who'd have thought something as simple as helping lovers reconcile would turn into another life threatening adventure..."

Katie would blink as Cachen wanted her up. She winced briefly as she stood on her legs. "I can stand just fine." she said softly.


Tai smiled at Shenkin. "Sure, but we have to get our parents somewhere first!" she said and tugged at Kodi's collar, getting him to stand. She even led him by the metal ring.

"Woah!" Kodi said, surprised.

Balto nodded and chuckled. "Its a crazy world. Look, they're trying to get to the hill."

Cachen nodded, Fang helpping his "sister" walk as they lead them up the hill to the place where it was to be set up.

"Alright, turn around, no peeking!" called Lena, before the pups got ready to start.

Jenna nodded. "I had Star take the "ice caps" up earlier in a bag," she stated. "Hard to believe this is the fourth time those little broken bottles will help someone..." she said, remembering use them to guide Balto home from the sirum run, and when they proved to be the Outsider's biggest weakness on two occasions.

Lena got the bag of glass and poured it out, Cachen gently setting it up.

Sakak snapped his fingers, manafesting a lantern he handed to Tai and Kai.
