Not that much is known, it is not out yet.
But it seems to be in Traditonal [TLK Bambi, 101 Dalmations, ect...] style.
Offical Trailer : http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o0j7EactM9s
It's based off of a classic fairy tale. It should be out in 2009 Decemeber [I think]

I was going to say that it's a duplicate topic, but it seems not...

I am ASHAMED that no one has been talking about it. Well I should have posted a topic too, but I thought there was one here already.

This is the real trailer to the film (the link you gave was only the old teaser) :

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uQBy6jqbmlU

Anyway, that film is the COMEBACK of traditional animation, and the comeback of Disney to its original way of making films! I still wonder why it took them so long to do this, but the result is there : just watch the trailer, it talks by itself! I can already say that film is the best Disney film they've made since Brother Bear in 2003! Everything there is top quality.

And I surely hope that they will definitely make some efforts on the marketing side. Because this film is the turning point that will decide the fate of traditional animation.

If it flops, we will probably never see anymore
If it works, we could see new classics like this in the years to come! And other companies could follow the same way. (that's what they always do, anyway...)

But honestly, I don't see how it could flops. Even if it doesn't bring as much money as the CGI films, it still costs much less to make 2D films like this (which is a nonsense to me, why do they keep making CGI while 2D costs less AND looks so much better?), so it could be more profitable (which is what companies are looking for)

In any case, I will give ALL my support for this film (as soon as it's released, I think a Frog Princess Source may be on its way...)

Some pictures :

There are currently controversies about the film (Tiana is black, while the prince is white), which is a good thing because this will bring free advertisement for the film. (yes yes, always think that giving a bad opinion about something is going to make a lot of people interested...)

Here is a more recent trailer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9xOPH02ozbE

I've heard of the controversies(and for the record, the Prince is clearly some kind of Spanish or Latina), but all and all this looks like it's shaping up to be a pretty nice movie! I can't wait to see another classic 2-D animated Disny-soon-to-be-classic. xDD Much better than that hampster movie...talk about your dumb ideas.

About the trailer, yes, I just noticed it at the same time as you and edited my post :)

I'm very glad that Disney is seeing this the same way (the beginning of the trailer : they almost state that "it's the best one since Lion King"!)

Actually it's a good thing that the CGI films being released at the same time are all rubbish...The difference between them is even more noticeable. It's like day and night.
The only thing I'm still worried about is some "Shrek-like toilet humor" I have seen in a few scenes already. But I don't think it will hurt the film too much.

Which still makes me wonder why Disney is saying that "Princess and the Frog is the comeback to the true classics" AND they keep making rubbish CGI ones. Weird decisions.

Oops, sorry for the old trailer. [I liked it the best]
I might not be able to see this though. :{ [Movie tickets cost like 7.50 a person] And DVD prices are 20.00 Dollars per new movie.
I thought it would be cute. Also, a Princess And the Frog Source, I will like to help out if you do want to go with that. :]

Well, these prices are not new and not specific to this film, so I don't understand that reaction...
I mean, if you can't see this, then you can't see any.

Ah, that's a very good point. Younger kids(well, their parents) from ages 2-6 are the major 'buyers' in CGI films because they're 3D or bubbly or something(or yes, marinated with 'toilet humor'). The major reason though is because the last animated 2D films were made, as stated ealier, around 2003, SIX whole years ago, before these kids were ALIVE. When they start to realize what they're missing, they won't want to be seeing any more of the CGI garbage.

Doesn't look too good. I think doing this film in tradition animation is just a ploy to sucker in old-school Disney fans.

Wow, what an argumented message. What "doesn't look too good", exactly?

If the frog himself is any indication of the kind of characters we'll be seeing in this movie, this looks to be the same old crap Disney has been serving us for more than a decade.

That's what I meant by "toilet humor", although it only seem to affect the prince, and probably not during the whole film.

I have been following all the news on this movie. I'm so excited about this. Not only do we get the 2-D animation we know and love we also get an African American princess(me being black, this is very exciting). The plot looks great, the animation is fantastic, and the characters are interesting. I will be there opening day waiting in line to see this.
Also I posted a video on youtube about my thoughts on the movie http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QzEqqiNbpbI
if anyone is interested.

Me too ! I'm not black but it's about time we see some black princesses and characters in disney movies ! I mean, look at Jasmine, Mulan, etc... We've seen white europeans, white americans, native americans, indians, arabians, chinese characters but no black character (except for some who weren't main character I guess as in Lilo and Stitch)
