Oh god I'm sorry this has been dead so long, it wasn't my intention of making it drag on, I promise. I just got caught up in so much else I either forgot about it or didn't have time. D8 So, so, SO sorry. I will try to stay on top of it this time. I thank those who stuck with me and were patient, you're saints xD <3 If anyone is STILL interested in this topic, please let me know so I can update the information.

Also, I will now be changing this topic to include adoption for Daquiri, because I really don't think I can keep her, or keep her balto related, so if anyone has any good ideas and you would like to adopt her, please add that to your original post if possible, or just make a new one. Just be sure to tell me if you update your post so I can take note of it. You don't have to keep all of her original info, but please don't change EVERYTHING. Be sure to include a history in your adoption application.

Description: I don't like abusing my characters and barely using them, so giving them mates, if single, allows for more chances to be used 83 NO SET DEADLINE FOR NOW

***RULES***

1- No stealing. If you use linearts/renders, they must have original citations if not yours. Permission from original render artist must be given to use their renders to edit. I will ask.
2- No characters made up on the spot will be accepted. They must be a character you already use and have on your character page on the site. Must have atleast one drawing already in gallery. (Call me picky, but I just want effort)
3- Renders/Linearts can be used, but also must provide a drawing if these are used. (PM me if this will be an issue)
4- No wolves (unless given the ok. Be sure to read the 'looking for' under each character)
5- No hybrids (preferably, but can be sumitted)
6- Can be any domestic dog breed (meaning NO made up species)
7- Must be realistically colored (no pink, blue, green etc...)
8- Do not whine or flame me or anyone else in this topic if you do not win.

#1- Name: Mate Contest

Personality: Very friendly and outgoing, as well as open minded, loyal, sympathetic, and funny
Likes: Being with his friends, attention, running with the sled team, children, joking around
Dislikes: Feeling helpless, being teased about his deafness, his deaf ear touched, seeing others being bullied or teased
Fears: Gunshots, some men, hunters, knives
Story: Went deaf in his left ear after a man stabbed him with a sharp knife. Fortunately, his behavior and personality went unchanged, other than a fear of knives and having his injured ear touched. Trained to be a sled dog, and doesn't usually care what position or rank he is as long as he can keep running. Over the last year, however, his master has become too sick to race after falling through the ice of a lake during a trial run, and had to retire and now has to sell his sled team to pay for treatment.
Other: Developed a friendship with Star after helping him from being bullied by a group of bigger dogs in an alleyway. Didn't work as well as planned, but in the end, both got away with out being hurt. Name is pretty protective of the smaller Klee Klai, knowing he doesn't do very well standing up for himself, rather choosing to flee.
Looking for: Single dog that likes to run and isn't afraid to stand up for what's right.

#2- Daiquiri: Adoption Contest

Likes: Playing, chasing, attention, other dogs, people/children
Dislikes: Loud noises, thunderstorms, being yelled at, Raccoons (was bitten when being trained young)
Personality: Like most labs and/or retrievers, has lots of energy that needs proper channeling by training and exercise, but is very loving and playful. Loves to chase just about anything that moves. Can have issues focusing, being young, but willing to please.
Story: Was originally bred and sold as a small game hunting dog, but was a few months later put up for adoption because her owner got frustrated with her training. Was adopted by a family who were looking for a new dog after the death of their last pet.

Looking for: A dog that has enough energy to keep up with her and will treat her nicely, as well as someone to play with.

I've always loved Name, I hope you don't mind me entering a certain old character that also has barely been used~


Name: Shadow
Gender: Female
Age: 2 years
Breed: German Shepherd Dog
Personality: Shadow is a military girl. She can be strict and rough, but in a good way. She is used to giving orders and never takes no for an answer. She never follows orders from other dogs (no matter the age or gender) and loves to run throughout the wilderness. For a heart of adventure, and a semi-lust of action, this purebred is a down-and-dirty tomboy.
Likes: Aiding the needy, running, chasing, water
Dislikes: Fire, the "bad guys", waiting forever, being pitied because she lost a leg
History: Shadow was born to Duke and Lauren, along with six siblings in the large city of Dallas, Texas. Born into police dog lines, Shadow was thoroughly raised and trained by her own parents immediately after she was weaned. During that time she participated in her first persuit on a shoplifter, who turned out to be a wanted criminal. It was all thanks to her best friends Harley and Cooper. This was also the time where Shadow first felt the true emotions of love, directed towards Harley. She surprised her parents with her quick learning abilities and strength, and when they thought she was ready, Shadow was assigned to an officer in Oklahoma, where she became part of the K-9 Unit for a little over half a year. Shadow was saddened to leave her friends, especially the one she felt feelings for, and her hopes of finding the perfect male diminished. But when her owner received a call from an old friend in Alaska, he and Shadow moved to Fairbanks to aid in law enforcement. But when her owner was diagnosed with lung cancer, Shadow was given to Dave, a friend in Nome.
Other: She lost her hind left leg during a mission back in Dallas, Texas, but she doesn't let a simple amputation stop her from aiding the innocent.
Future Plans: Shadow hopes to settle down and have a family after she retires from her police work (she's probably already laid off due to her recent move to Nome and since she lost a limb). She also hopes ,even though she's not required to, to keep order to all those she interacts with.

Extras: I've had Shadow since I first joined Balto Source, actually. She first started out as a roleplay character for a very old roleplay called "The Mission". That roleplay was practically her background and where she lost her hind leg. She was such a well developed character (and one of my favorites back then) I had to make her one of my official characters.

Other: Changeling is one of my older characters, but he's had the same problem (no mate, not much to work with) I really don't want him to keep falling by the wayside since I think I've made an interesting character with a name that makes sense (and is unique.)

Future Plans: Changeling is in a fic I'm working on about a pampered Ibizan Hound who, on a dare, lives on the streets for a week. Changeling is one of the dogs she meets.

Why he's good for Daiquiri: Changeling needs to be sped up, he's lived a quiet slow life and he needs a kick in the tail to get out there and enjoy life to the fullest. Daiquiri is the right girl to do it.

Name Meaing: Red

Nicknames: Red or Son

Gender: Male

Age: 2-3

Breed: Mostly husky, but also a very small bit of Black lab (wich is a result of the black spots)

Personality: Responsable, protective, very social and just a good dog. A rather big gentlemen, but has a wild side that he almost never shows. Loyal, Loving, caring, obedient, understanding

Likes: warm wether, having fun, His owner Ray, running on wet sand.

Dislikes: rudnees from anyone, pain, drowning, sharp things.

History: Born in Nome, he grew up with many others to play with, wich makes him very socail, he was always with a friend or a small group. After he was sold he didn't see his parents or sibs much after, but he had many friends. After he met Daiquiri, they raced all the time, every hour on the hour, and mostly would tire eachother. His feelings for her later increased.

As my character: He was an OLD character that I drew on paper but never posted, I made him a long time ago and then forgot about him, then I found a pic of him and brought him back. Also I enterd him in LJ's contest for Bliss. But he lost

Other: Sometimes has a black color but only when on a leash.

Future Plans: His running and strength will be put to the test when he is put on a sled team. (Shortly after he falls for Daiquiri) He stays on it and later they enter the Iditarod.

Yeah, as said, Name's a boy XD And though I don't mine homosexual relationship, its not allowed on this site :/ (PLEASE don't bring any of that up in this topic, just stating my opinion and the rules)
