And what makes him such a great antagonist (to use that in the literary and dramatic sense) is that he's not the typical "evil" villain or heartless bully. Rather, he's a likeable guy who is benevolent to the other characters. Which is a VERY clever bit of writing (and rather trumps some of the idiotic criticisms leveled at this particular sequel by fans I think). It's HARD to not like Duke, and to not sympathize with him (and I both like and sympathize with him). And knowing the real history of Alaska at the time like I do, I know that there is plenty of historical evidence (including photographs) which show the gradual phasing out of dog sled mail teams and their replacement with bush planes (of varying and increasingly-advanced designs).

I guess that does work. It does make a lot of sense

I think Balto WoC is great, like most( or some) people, I thought balto WQ and WoC was just plain and empty of great plot to first time I watched, but due to boring reality, I watched WoC along with Balto & WQ the most of all movies, since I thought Balto I was classic, and watching it would be like going back to the beginning, and I thought WQ was sad at the ending, and after watching WoC over and over, I came to like it, just like I stared to like Balto and WQ So those who hate the Balto series, please watch them repeatedly and rapidly when you have nothing to do, and you'll come to like them, Alot!

Wings of Change obviously played it safe and returned things to normal in Nome. The one thing it really brought to the Balto universe was it gave us a look at a calmer Nome. It's not as outside-the-box as Wolf Quest, and the situation and peril is nowhere near as dire as the original film. With this in mind, Wings of Change was more like a television episode than a movie, in the sense that it starts out normal and ends when that normalcy returns. It basically just shows us what goes on in Nome when nothing really significant is happening.
Some people like that, some people don't.
As for me, I just appreciate it. I like when an installment does that, which is pretty much what EVERY SINGLE Land Before Time sequel did, and at least in Balto's case it's not overkill. But other than what I explained above, Wings of Change didn't really have much to offer. I mean, Wolf Quest pretty much turned the Balto universe upside down. It added the pups and ended on saying farewell to one of them. After it, the normalcy of the first film could never be returned to.
I instantly appreciated the third film / second sequel. I also believe, however, that being put after Wolf Quest only hurt it. We were given a grand creative look at Alaska, then we were given just another copy of the first film.
So, to answer your question, I felt appreciation and disappointment at once.

I was like, "This movie is good, but it could have been better." The storyline isn't bad, but there needs to be more improvement on some of the scenes. At least the animation was better than WQ, (especially Balto's eye color and Jenna's neck!) The movie was a little cheesy with the songs, but the meaning behind them weren't too bad. We can all agree on this though: Balto I was the best out of the three........ but we can debate whether Balto II or Balto III is better. Rave4ever- Didn't see that one coming man...

I meant that Balto I is the best movie out of the three. I didn't mean that everybody agrees that Balto III is better than Balto II. Maybe I wasn't too clear on that part....

Balto WoC is okay but I still think Balto 1 is way better than it. That is in my honest opinion.
