Similar to the thread with WQ, but with WoC!
So, for my reaction. I thought the animation had definitely improved, but the storyline was boring. Plane crashes, Balto saves the day, hoo hah! Kodi acted like a kid which was a pain, and then he suddenly matured at the end. They tried a few different angles for once, which was good since WQ sucked at that. Overall, I thought it was okay, but it could do a lot better.

Like Wolf Quest, I picked up the DVD, threw it on the floor and started puking on it. Then I watched it expecting ANY kind of ANYTHING interesting to happen. Like the line breaking on the sled or them actually falling off the cliff (and surviving, I GUESS) or Kodi getting into an argument with a Balto hater, but nothing happened. The plane crashing was the most interesting thing to happen, and even that was anti-climactic cuz it had a bunch of lame jokes in between the plane crashing and the plane being found. The secondmost interesting thing was when Balto nearly slid off the ice cliff with Duke hanging on by his hands. But that was near the end of the movie and they had to be saved. The thirdmost interesting thing was when Dusty nearly slid off the mountain, but surprise, she caught herself. Oh goodie.
The characters were already lame, they could've redeemed Jenna, but no. "I should've gone with Balto." Wishful thinking. The real Jenna would've gone after him. But they had to redeem the already bland character Kodi by making him "do the right thing" which was as plain as day to do anyway. Go peer pressure. That's something I want my kids to learn to give in to. They need to stop having so many pointless characters and work on the ones they already have.
I could go on, but I'll spare everyone. So, yeah, when it comes to boredom, this movie gets an 11.

But after re-watching it, I think that it's actually a very well-put together little film. Like Wolf Quest, there were a few things that could have been improved upon (like the character developement, and actually mentioning that Balto was part wolf) or toned down. (Stella!) But despite its flaws, I think that it's a clean kids film and one of the few Universal sequels which doesn't teach small childen bad behaviour.

I got up halfway through and went to do something more interesting. Like watching paint dry.

Personally, I think WoC deserves more praise than it's getting. The plotline was a boring as watching paint dry, I agree to that, but I kind-of like what they did to character designs. Especially Balto seems a bit older and more of a "wise guy". Fits him perfectly. Why did they darken his fur colours, though?
My first reaction when I watched the film was "Omg wow!", and the second time I was "Meh, it's good". Third time: "Well, decent entertainment." Then a month passed and I watched it again, and went like "Wait, wait! This movie is awesome! It's given me back my inspiration for Balto fics!" And I watched it a week ago to make my newest project about two of BS' most infamous couples. And it gave me so much inspiration <3
But yes, I was noobish when I first watched it, and was like, enthralled by eye-candy.

I kinda thought WOC was OK. It seemed to have a better plotline than WQ, IMHO.
