Seriously, though, I'm in the same boat as Cat when I say that I actually didn't mind the Big Lipped Alligator. Sure, the lyrics in his song were pretty creepy at points, but it served it's purpose in setting up the climax. If the entire sequence were to be cut out, obviously we would all be confused and wondering 1) "Where did the rats in the water carry Charlie and Anna Marie off too, did they toss them away somewhere like garbage?" and 2) "How did Anne Marie get to the point of being very sick and possibly dying?" So, yeah, the sequence helps answer and connect those two questions.

I didn't actually mind the scene where the rats carried them off into the sewers as a sacrifice to the Big Lipped Alligator, but it was just the fact that the song he sang didn't fit the movie like the others did. ie.

"You Can't Keep A Good Dog Down" - how Charlie and Itchy felt about being framed.
"Welcome to Doing Whatever You Wish" and "Let Me Be Surprised" - persuading Charlie to stay in Heaven
"What's Mine is Yours" - a lesson to Flo's puppies about sharing and how you can live better by being kind to others ( I personally think Charlie was singing more to himself then the puppies)
"Soon You'll Come Home" - Anne Marie desperately wanting a home and parents to love her.

But maybe if the song was about the Big Lipped Alligator himself and why he lived in the sewers and wanted to go out and become a singer (like Louis(?) in The Princess and the Frog). But if not the reason Anne Marie would have gotten sick could have been 1) Living in clothes that were not clean. 2) Staying in the junkyard with Charlie. 3) She could have gotten sick from falling in the water before she go taken to the sewers (the rat carrying scene could be cut and have them crawling out of wherever they were and her getting sick from that water)

I personally would've wanted to change a couple of things about All Dogs Go To Heaven. As a kid and even now as a teen I would've like to see Flo and Charlie hook up, she was totally into him and her character was cute kinda like the female bunny character in Bambi that Thumper meets. Her character could've been expanded on I think way more than it was.
I ALSO HATED THAT CHARLIE HAD TO DIE JUST WHEN HE WAS SHAPING UP!!!!!!
I know I know Don Bluth movies aim to be as far away from the everythings happy go lucky Disney with real life problems that the characters have to face and sometimes overcoming. Still it probably wouldn't be a classic if it had been made differently. Maybe it could've been but then that's a huge what if.
I will say that the story and plot were one of a kind and that this was and is still one of my favorite animated movies of all time.
I also would've thought that Charlie once owning half of the clubs and being Carfaces partner that there would've been more allies that would've joined him against his rival. It's a no brainer who you'd join- at least I'd think it would be. Anyway....

Oh geez I'm going to get a lot of whining for this one, but I would change Charlie's appearance (*le gasp*), that's right I didn't like the way he looked in the first movie, I thought it was weird and unattractive. Just my opinion, don't chew my head off please

I... don't think he was SUPPOSED to be attractive. He's a DOG. Besides, so what if he was unattractive? xD What's wrong with characters without good looks?

I'd change several things.

1. Make the plot line easier to follow (I was lost through half the film! )
2. I'd make Anne Marie older (mainly because her little kid attitude and voice were getting on my nerves)
3. Remove the singing!
4. Remove all the aspects of Hell (it was those moments that made me go WTF!? :silent: )

What was so hard to follow about it? I understood it as a young child. A dog was a jerk, died, defied Heaven, and continued to be a jerk until a little girl changed him for the better. Seems pretty simple.

1) That little girl voice actress is adorable and 2) Children can't connect to older children. If she was any older she'd be able to take care of herself and not be so easily persuaded by Charlie to stay with him the entire time. An older child would know they were being used, and therefore would make the movie not exist.

Why? The songs were excellent. One could differ to about 2, but Can't Keep a Good Dog Down, Let Me Be Surprised, Soon You'll Come Home (To My Heart) and the ending song were excellent, well-written, catchy, moving, and most of all memorable. There's nothing to fix nor get rid of.

Um. Hell needed to exist in this film. If there's a Heaven, there's a Hell. You can't have one without the other, it loses the impact. Besides, what the heck would Charlie be afraid of if there was no signs of Hell anywhere? You'd have a movie with zero impact and absolutely NO FEELING. There's absolutely no fear of Hell or any consequences, so where's the suspense?

In other words your changes to the movie are ridiculous, useless and would make the movie terrible, cliche, boring and safe.

Well I just though there were too many random events that took place in it that made lose track of the movie a little

Don't get me wrong I do think the girl that voiced her was adorable, it's just that her voice was getting on my nerves a little. (Let the hate mail flow)

I'm sorry, but most songs in animated movies just don't really appeal to me. Usually when an animated movie has singing I only tend to like one or two of the songs. I mean Can't keep a Good Dog Down and the ending song were good, but those were really the only songs I liked.

Ok, you have a point there, but did the aspect really have to be that violent and creepy?

I'm sorry if I offended you man, but it's apparent that we have two TOTALLY different opinions about this movie and I really don't want to get into an argument over it. I respect your opinions towards it and I hope you respect mine. Everyone's entitled to their own opinion. Once again I'm sorry if I got on your nerves.

Thank you. And I only respect people's opinions if they make a good argument for it xD

And um. YES!? The idea of Hell is not something to take with a grain of salt. The idea of Hell is supposed to be of this terrible, gruesome place that NO ONE wants to go to. It's a place of torture for people who have done worse than terrible things to their fellow man. Why would anyone want to dumb that down?

It was even the LEAST scariest thing they wanted to do with that scene. Charlie was originally supposed to speak to the unnamed Satan, who took the form of a demonic dragon in Charlie's mind, but they deemed THAT to be too much of a mind-freak for children to handle. All they could fit in without their G-rating being yanked was the growling line of dialogue "You can never go back."

Well for me sometimes I can provide a good argument and sometimes my argument is just plain unusual or weird to most people which is the case with this movie.
