Yes, they can be rather dislikable "glory hounds"...but that's an excellent point right below. Even the most despicable villain plays a very important role in his or her story. I myself am a big fan of many villains and other antagonists, frequently sympathizing with them. Often I find such characters more interesting and lovable than protagonists and "heroes!" Many films require no villain, but the Balto series isn't one of those...and Steele and the others are strong and well-characterized. Even if you completely dislike them, there's no denying their necessity to our full appreciation and enjoyment of the stories.

And I personally always like Muk and Luk, whether or not they performed a significant act. I'm not that picky when it comes to a character having an important part to play; even if their only purpose in WQ had been as cute, fluffy comic relief, I'm fine with that. I was amused, and glad to see them again rather than just omitting them from the movie.

LOL, I never really thought of the Scottie (whom I like well enough) as a Jock rip-off, although they do have a tendency to make Scottish Terriers similar to one another (not to mention all black, when they also come in wheaten and several brindles.) They could be a little more adventurous with them. I can understand why he wouldn't have made it onto most people's favorites lists, although I do like him.

(And I love Dix, too, but I've probably said that a dozen times already! XD)

I'm none too fond of Scottie either. Honestly, if I see a Scot I want him to have some iron in him, not just an overdose of Red Bull.

I wouldn't have marked him as my least favorite character unless he was brought up, mainly because he's so easy to forget.

Yeah, he's really not all that memorable. LOL! I know what you mean. Jock is a prime example of that "true grit" for which Scots are known!

The marriage of his voice actor's snarling with the animators' skills really brought that bit to life, indeed. You can feel the little guy's rage--I don't blame Tramp for not wanting to tangle with him!

I personally don't hate either out the first two. Stella wasn't in them for one thing, and she's the only character I really despised.

I don't HATE any characters, either...even Stella. I'd guess that there's more discussion of hated/disliked characters in the second two movies simply because most of us don't love them as much as we do the original. People have more of a tendency to pick them apart and harp on everything they believe is wrong with them.

Atleast Jock had some self control.......


Now in terms of characters I dont exactly like.......
Steele in the first movie and Niju/Nava in the second.

That's true. Plus, fighting a girl's best friend, or one of her best friends, in front of her is not the best way to get a date. Not unless she's a fan of boxing or kung-fu, and maybe not even then.
