Kovu KNEW Scar?

Okay, in a part in TLK2 Kovu stated he KNEW Scar. Interesting...

Nini-Lion-Lover :

Okay this is my first article and sorry if someone already wrote this before me. I'm not trying to copy.

In The Lion King 2, Kovu stated to Kiara that Scar was like a father to him. Exact statement: 'He wasn't my father, but he was still...part of me'. Now, the way the sentence was worded, it means that Kovu had to have known Scar. Scar was already a little younger than Mufasa in The Lion King. Therefore he was fully grown when Simba was a cub. Now, that means (for Kovu to know Scar) that he had to have been alive and old enough to remember who Scar was in the first Lion King. The last day he could've known him is before he died when Simba came back. That would make Kovu way older than Kiara and closer to Simba's age (because Simba faught Scar when he was full grown) . Also in the beginning of Lion King 2 (when Kiara met Kovu) they were both the same age. That proves that Kovu wasn't alive before Scar died. He couldn't have known Scar or else when he met Kiara he would've been a teenager at the minimum.

no both scar and Zira died trust me, for one Smoke veniation would have killed scar was well as blood loss from being ATacked by the Hyenas, and Zira would have never survied the fall and beinf swept away by water, lions can swim but only if they have to normally thus i doubt there good at it., this theory is good, but not really needed i find most peole never thought about scar being alive while Kovu was.

"He wasn't my father, but he was still...part of me"

Can simply mean that, Because so many of the out landers and Zira expect Kovu to be like scar, Scar's persona is automaticly apart of Kovu's. As you probably noticed he acted alittle like scar from time to time in the movie. some people have the theory that scar was his father but with that statement you know thats false. hover he may have been kovu's Uncle or something.

Maybe Scar DIDN'T die...You never know, it's not like you see him dead or anything. Like Nuka and Mufasa are both defiantly dead, Scar and Zira on the other hand...

This is probably true, because when Kiara accidently bumped into Kovu when they were cubs,Kovu already had a tuft of hair, that indicated he was about to grow a mane.

This is one of those amazingly large SP plotholes that we will never be able to answer exactly. There is both proof that Kovu has seen Scar but the evidence thats counts against that is usually stronger. Maybe Scar came to him in a dream and told him heartfully about his 'terribly tragic' story and urged him at all costs to avenge him? but I also think that it was Ziras influence on him to avenge him that made kovu feel a part of him.

Maybe he heard so much about Scar from Zira?(since she always talks about him anyways). Interesting article though;)

Kovu could have been either a few days old or a few weeks old when scar died?

Could be, but visual they look about same age. Especially as cubs, cubs grow fast, and male cubs grow faster than female, so wouldn't he be bigger, than she?

Well, he could have been like a few months older than eachother, it never initially says they are both the same age....

I double Mahewa, Kovu was raised that way, to be totally like Scar. And he was there to kill Simba, but he loved Kiara, so he felt even closer to Scar. So Scar was part of him, because he was there to continue his work, and doing what Scar would. And Zira expected from him to be like that.
I am happy he wasn't.

Very interesting indeed! :! Maybe Kovu said that because Zira talked about Scar all the time to Kovu, and kept telling him over and over that he was Scar's heir? Then poor brainwashed Kovu would become convinced that Scar really lived on in him. (Remember when he sees Scar in his reflection?) Though Kovu is, as you rightly stated, too young to remember Scar personally, Scar is clearly a great presence in Kovu's life...in a sort of faceless, deity-like way.
