Detail Abdul (bxr)

Name: Abdul

Meaning: The Servant

Original name: Arvin

Meaning: Experiment

Age: Varies

Gender: Male

Parents: Unknown

Siblings: Unknown

Crush/mate: Kpodo (makoza)

Cubs: None yet

Personality: Abdul hates being around other lions as he doesn't trust them. So he tends to avoid the other lions and doesn't talk to them. As a result he doesn't have any friends, but Abdul doesn't really care about that since he believes that they will betray him and turn him into the humans again or try to do more tests on him. But when it comes to his pride, he is extremely loyal and would protect it with his life

Likes: Being alone, quiet, lying under a tree on a sunny day, being safe

Dislikes: Humans, other lions, tests, crouds, noise, danger

History: Nothing about Abdul's family is known. When he was two days old some humans kidnapped him and killed his parents, who tried to protect him, before taking him away to some sort of lab. They operated on him every few days, and took out his left eye, replacing it with a small blue camera, as soon as they could. The humans replaced his bones, teeth and claws with some kind of metal and added a female reprodictive system to him. From the very first day the humans decided to call him Arvin, meanin experiment. They also shaved his mane off whenever it began to grow, until eventually no roots of his mane were left so it couldn't grow back. At last when the humans said he was ready, they stopped operating. But as soon as Arvin had adapted to these new features, they put him into a training ground and forced him to battle other cubs. The fight would not stop until lunchtime, unless he killed the cub by accident, or if he was nearly killed. The humans just beat him if Arvin was nearly killed, and gave him a small break if he killed the cub. When lunchtime came Arvin was taught how to hunt, and if he failed, then he either starved until he caught something or was fed by the humans, depending on who was with him. In the afternoons he had to give himself a bath while the humans got ready to scan him. Once the machine was ready he was wired up to it and the humans checked his status. If it was positive then they would give him the rest of the day off unless they thought of something, but if it was negative then they made him fight again. Once Arvin knew how to hunt the humans didn't come, he had to hunt on his own, and if he failed to catch something then he would have to hope for some spare time or go hungry.

Finally when he was an adult the humans let him go, although he didn't know it. They closed Arvin's cage but didn't  lock it, and had someone watch to see if Arvin got out. He did, and quickly made his glorious escape to freedom, not knowing that he had been microchipped and they could look through his camera at any time. The humans let him, this was all part of their experiment, to see how 'real' lions acted and how they could be changed.

Arvin ran for days, finally finding a pride with a giant rock. Well, he didn't know it was a pride, since he had never seen one before. To him it was a very large group of lions living in a rock, which he didn't get. Didn't they sleep outdoors on the ground like he had done? And what were the cubs doing, chasing after each other, tapping them with their paw and running off? Why weren't they fighting? And the lions, why were they lying around? Shouldn't they be out training? Arvin had never seen lions just lie around or cubs playing, in fact, he thought that what happened at the lab happened with the lions in the wild, all the training and fighting and hunting, just without all the tests and operations.

Arvin was so busy taking in the scene around him he didn't notice a young female lion coming in his direction until she smashed into him, sending him crashing to the ground. Arvin snarled and leapt on the lioness, thinking that she was going to try and do something to him or send him back to the humans. He grabbed her by the scruff of her neck and began shaking her like a rat. The lioness screamed for help and soon two lions came into view. One was a golden lion with a red mane and brown eyes, the other a brown lion with a brown mane and green eyes, not quite as old as the first one, though. The golden male yanked him off of the lioness while the brown one checked to make sure she was OK. The lioness was a lot like the golden one, obviously his daughter. The brown lion suddenly leapt at Arvin, pinning him down. Outraged, Arvin clawed furiously at the lions underneath while tugging at his mane. The lion roared and leaned back, trying to pull away, when Arvin let go. The male stumbled back and Arvin leapt on him, pinning him face-up with a claw on his neck. "Any last words, lion?" He growled. The female shrieked and the golden lion tore Arvin off, who snarled at him. The brown lion recovered and stood growling at him. The three males stood, growling and snarling at each other. The two males were about to run forward when another female stepped between them.

"Guys, knock it off! This lion clearly isn't from around here!" She snapped then turned to Arvin. "Sorry about that." She smiled. Arvin observed this lioness. She was pale with blue eyes and a brown tail. Arvin tensed incase she attacked. The lioness must have noticed "Don't worry, I won't harm you." She smiled. "I'm Nala, queen of the Pridelands, and this is Simba, my mate, Kiara, my daughter, and Kovu, Kiara's mate." Nala waved a paw at the other three lions. Arvin let his muscles relax but was still wary of them. "It's OK." He grunted. "But what is a Pridelands?" Nala laughed. "Well, it's the name we've given our land. But other prides have different names." She explained. "Pride?" Arvin asked, confused, and new to the word. Kovu sighed in despair. Nala stayed patient. "You know, a pride? Where a group of lions live together?" Arvin shook his head. "I've never even heard of a pride." Now all the lions looked shocked. Nala shook her head. "Anyways, what's your name lioness?" "Lioness?" Arvin growled, putting his claws out. Nala backed away. "I'm a male!" He roared. Nala backed away more, and Simba growled. "You can't be a male, you have no mane!" Simba snapped. "They shaved it off whenever it grew." Arvin scowled. Nala and Kiara looked at each other.  "Who shaved it off?" Kiara asked. "The humans." Arvin grunted. There was a gasp from the other lions. "You mean you've gone near humans?" Kiara gasped. Arvin shook his head. "I has no choice. They took me from my parents when I was a baby. The humans gave me this metal eye, and replaced my bones, teeth and claws with some kind of metal." They all exchanged horrified glances. "Then when did you escape?" Kiara whispered. "Just a few days ago. They forced me to fight other lion cubs in the morning, then I had to catch my own lunch, and then they would do a scan on me. If I was positive then they would leave me in peace. If it was negative - which it usually was - I had to fight some more." Arvin shrugged. Everyone looked horrified. "How awful to be forced to train!" Kiara gasped. "Don't all cubs fight with each other?" Arvin asked. They all looked at each other and shook their heads. Simba stepped forward. "Well then, rouge, what is your name?" He asked. "Ar-" Arvin began then stopped, thinking quickly. If he said 'Arvin' then they might send him back to the lab, or somehow do tests on him. It wasn't worth the risk. "I mean, Abdul." He corrected quickly. He had heard that Abdul meant 'The Servant', which was better than 'Experiment' by a long shot. "My name is Abdul." Simba nodded. "Well then, Abdul, would you like to join the Pridelands?" Simba asked. Abdul nodded. "So long as you don't send me back." He replied. Simba nodded. "We would never send you back." He assured.

Over the days Abdul settled into life in the pride. At first, he was really jumpy around other lions, true, but he soon learnt that they didn't want to hurt him, only become his friend. So he stopped snarling at others and started to hang around with them. He grew very close to a female called Lila, and soon fell in love with her, although he was too shy to admit it.

One day when Abdul was talking to Kovu Vitani came running up. "Kovu! Humans! In the pridelands!" She gasped. Abdul sprang up to his paws at once. "They claim that they've followed Abdul here, and have come to take us away to change us, like they changed Abdul!" Kovu glared at Abdul, who snarled. "How did they follow me here?" Vitani shook her head. "I don't know, I heard them say something about microchipping you." She explained. Abdul roared in fury then looked at Simba and Kovu. "Simba, I promise you I would never lead this pride into any danger. I'll chase them away or die trying." He growled then raced out. Kiara came running up to him, nearly bumping into him again. "Fire, fire!" She cried. "The humans have set off a fire! Evacuate the pride!" Kiara raced into the den. Abdul snarled. How dare the humans!

Soon the whole pride had gathered around to face the humans, since no one wanted Abdul to go alone. Abdul stood at the front, growling. "Come here." The humans ordered. Abdul put his claws out. "You must do as we say." They frowned. Still Abdul refused to move. One human came forward and tugged at his scruff. "Come with us!" Abdul roared and lashed out, his metal claws scratching the human's face, making it bleed. "You have to do as we say. We own you. You are our experiment, our property. That's why we called you Arvin." One human snapped. A gasp rolled out from the audience. Abdul looked desperately at Nala. Tears were streaming down her cheeks. "You mean Abdul isn't your real name?" She whispered. Simba growled. The whole pride started murmering when someone called out, "Abdul is a traitor! He betreyed us, lead us into a trap! He's a faliure, he failed us!" These words, although they hurt, made Abdul even angrier. He had been called a faliure for the last time. "Enough!" He roared and leapt at the humans, who shot in thhe sky in blind panic. Abdul went straight for the neck, ignoring whatever pain the humans threw at him. Soon the first human was dead. Abdul turned to attack the next one, who shot blindly. Soon, the human was dead. Suddenly Abdul's heart nearly stopped beating when he heard a shriek. Lila! As quickly as he could, Abdul leapt in front of Lila protectively, and was shot in the chest. Abdul could barely feel it, since he had been trained to feel no pain. Growling, he leapt at the lion who had tried to harm Lila and quickly ended his life.

One by one many of the humans were killed, and the others fled, leaping in a van and driving away. Far far away. Abdul was barely hurt, but Lila came up to him and nuzzed him. "Oh Abdul! You're so brave! You could have been killed!" She cried. Abdul gently licked her head. "I would have never been able to see you face death." He told her gently. Lila looked at him and his heart melted. "Lila, I love you."He whispered in her ear. Lila gasped, looking delighted. "I - I love you too, Abdul." She purred. The two new mates nuzzled lovingly, and the pride just stepped back respectfully.

Abdul quickly recovered from his injurys, although he whined about being attended to about his chest where he was shot, insisting he was fine. He knew that Lila was happy that  he wasn't hurt too bad, but he was so happy that he could finally be with Lila without worrying that someone else would take her from him. He also discovered that she was pregnant with his cubs quite quickly. He was sure that his life would be peaceful from now on.

But one day when he was discussing something with Kovu Vitani came up, with tears in her eyes. She took Abdul to the savannah, where he saw Lila's body, covered in scratch and bite marks. Abdul cried for weeks at the loss of his mate, an was thankful for his best friend, Patric, for helping him through this difficult time.

Soon he realised that he was falling in love with his best friend, which didn't make sense. They were both boys, for one. Was this normal? At first, Abdul thought that there was something wrong with him but when he talked to Simba about it Simba smiled and said that some people like the same gender. Thankful, Abdul went to Patric, smiling all over his face. His relief soon turned to delight when Patric confessed that he loved him. The two soon became mates, athough it was a shock for the pride when they discovered Abdul was going to have cubs. But soon they found out - one of the things the humans did to him was add a female reproductive system to his body, so he could have cubs with anyone.

But one day Patric came up to Abdul in tears. "Abdul, we can't be together anymore." He whispered. "I - I thought I loved you but... I - I fell in love with someone else, a female. I - I just can't stay with you, we're going to start our own pride, but I promise you, I wanted to tell you first, I couldn't bear to cheat on you." Abdul collapsed onto the floor, suddenly shedding tears. "But... what about our cubs, Patric. You can't have forgotten our cubs!" He cried. Patric sighed. "Look, I'll - I'll visit as often as I can." Patric promised but Abdul was too angry - and hurt - for promises. "Shut up! You don't care about me, or our cubs! You never loved me! Go and join your new, new, GIRLFRIEND and leave me alone! I don't care about you anymore!" He snarled then raced off, crying. He collapsed onto the cave floor, shedding tears by the dozen. At least he would still have cubs to love and look after.

But one day a rouge attacked him, as if about to try and force Abdul to mate with him. Abdul quickly killed the lion but when his cubs were born he was heartbroken to see that they were stillborns. Were the great kings of the past punishing him? Was it so wrong to love just because humans had altered him?

Everyone soon saw a change in Abdul after that. He snarled at everyone who talked to him and sat on his own by the river, turning away everyone who came near him, refusing to let anyone try to make him happy again. He didn't trust them anymore, and suddenly thought that they were just going to try and cause him pain, or experiment on him, or send him back to the humans. What was the point in liking someone? Whenever he tried to love someone something happened from preventing it, and it hurt too much. It was a different kind of pain - one no amout of training could stop, and Abdul didn't like it. So he promised himself that he would never love someone ever again, even if he did, he would never admit it or get close to them, for it would only end up in him getting hurt. There was nothing in the world that would ever make him love again.

But over the next few days, one of the lions took an interest in him. His name was Kpodo, the son of Nuka and Nala. The first time Abdul had met him decently was when Lila died, for he was there when the male attacked, and even then Abdul paid him no attention.

Kpodo rarely approached him, and when he did, he kept his distance, but did speak to Abdul. Naturally, Abdul turned him away, but his icy heart melted slightly at the last thing Kpodo told him. Abdul found himself needing to see the other male for comfort. It was strange, like he was in an abandoned land and he had to rely on ghost food to survive - food that wasn't there before but was when he needed it one time, and made him addicted to it. Abdul had never really spoken to Kpodo before then, but he slowly began to notice him more and more and felt drawn towards him. So he began to approach the other lion, and often told him about his feelings. Kpodo began to be the lion he could always rely on and talk to, no matter what. Several times he told himself - and attempted - to stay away from him, in fear of getting close to, and then losing, his friend, but every time he only ended up seeing Kpodo more and more.

Soon Kpodo stopped being his friend and began being his crush. This frustrated Abdul, as he was afraid, afraid of losing the only lion he could turn to who would understand, and tried to get himself to end these stupid feelings, but it only attracted him to the lion more.

It started with the basic and simple company. Kpodo would sometimes sit in silence as emotions poured out of Abdul - for once - and would sometimes cracked jokes to made Abdul laugh. And it worked. Kpodo had a great sense of humour and always knew exactly what to say and do. That's what first started it - Kpodo's personality and company set a trigger off in him.

It was the nicknames next. Abdul began to see a lot of Kpodo and was soon given a nickname - Abby. Normally if anyone tried to give Abdul a nickname he would get angry, but for some reason, Kpodo made it seem.... special. This only made his crush on the other male grow stronger.

One day Kpodo walked up to him. "Hey Abby." He said, smiling in that oh-so-adorable-and-gentle smile of his. Abdul's heart fluttered, just like it always did. "I’ve been thinking about this a lot and I think it’s finally time that I tell you. If you turn me away I understand, but Abdul, I’ve found that I love you, I can’t help I just…." Abdul's barriers broke. He gave in to the feelings that controlled how his life worked and finally accepted the fact that he was in love. Before Kpodo could say any more, Abdul kissed him. When he pulled away he couldn't help but smile at Kpodo's face. "I love you too, Kpodo." Abdul said, and shared another kiss with Kpodo as they officially became mates

lol thanks, sandy! Yeah, I felt like being mean to him by torturing his life with the humans, then killing his first mate, making Patrick break up with him then move out, and then kill his cubs. *evil laugh* But don't worry, his life will probably get better once he finds a mate to stick with
