After some months of Kopa's birth, Nala got very ill. Simba was depressed and some lionesses even thought that Nala would die. At this time, Kula was still alone. She thought that Nala would die, so she secretly tried to cheer up upset Simba and began to get close as much as possible. It was when Simba was also going to listen Kula's words about Nala's death, Nala got well. Simba and everyone else was happy again, but Kula was a bit upset.
But she got along with Chumvi, not realising that she was pregnant. When they found out, Kula thought the cub was Chumvi's. Then, she gave birth to two cubs. One boy and one girl, whom she named Hasana and Pili. They thought that the cubs would have got their light colour from any other family member. But, one day Rafiki came to see them. He told that the cubs were actually Simba's. Kula and Chumvi both were shocked. Chumvi refused to call them as his, though he adored them a little and taught to call him 'father'.
Hasana and Pili both were happy but also curious cubs. They played but also tried to discover every new things around them. Kula and Chumvi never told them who their father was. Though, the cubs always had the curiousity about their light colours. Sometimes, Chumvi took Pili to the Mountain Pride to meet Nu, Pili's (step) grandfather. Nu loved Pili, though he too was curious about their colours. Chumvi kept passing by telling, 'They might've got it from any else of the family.' But Nu's question made the two cubs more curious.
When they were young teens, somehow they got to see Rafiki. He told them about the reason of their light colours and that their father was king Simba. Hasana and Pili cried very much when they went to Kula and Chumvi. Hasana simply couldn't stand it, and she began to stay on her own. Pili though stayed a little with Kula and Chumvi. Kula tried to say Simba, and he thought to talk with Hasana and Pili. Pili also left Kula and Chumvi. Simba began to give them their food by huntresses, and tried to keep them happy.
Though, Hasana still didn't like him much. Simba introduced them newly as the daughter and son of his relatives and that they were royal cubs from now on. Nala had a doubt, but Simba told then they were Kula's children, but the father was his relative who died. He made a ceremony and there, he made Hasana betrohed to Thoko.
