Personality: Kukuona is kind and thoughtful, but seldom smiles. This is not because he's grumpy, but because he has never seen a smile before and doesn't know how to.

Bio:

Kukuona was born to a lone female wanderer, along with his younger brother, Sindikiza. His mother was scared for him and that he was blind, but despite his disabilities, he turned out to be an active and healthy cub.

When the two reached adolescence, their mother bade them farewell and had them go out on their own. Sindikiza tagged along with Kukuona, and he didn't object. The younger lion acted as a guide and as his eyes.

Kukuona later came across a lone lioness in the wild in need of help. He and Sindikiza nursed her back to health. She became attached to Kukuona, and he to her, and the two became mates.

Tragedy struck, however, when Kukuona's mate died of unknown causes. Kukuona was distraught for his loss, and no matter how much Sindikiza tried to comfort him, he was inconsolable. He buried her by a small pool of water in a jungle near the center of a desert.

When the two brothers were adults, Kukuona strayed across an unconcious young lioness in the desert. He rescued her and took her back to the jungle, where he woke her and discovered she was deaf. Soon after, Sindikiza brought him the lioness's younger sister, Nusura. She told him the deaf lioness's name, Anasikia and begged them to care for them, after explaining that they had fled their home.

Kukuona learned to read Anasikia's body language through touch and the sounds she made through touch and could also speak back to her. He became good friends with her and he soon realised that he could open up to her and tell her all about his past mate. There was a good connection between the two and Kukuona found out that he admired her.

When Anasikia reached maturity, Kukuona took her as his mate.
