Personality;Unlike her siblings,Laini is a shy,nervous girl and has barely any self confidence.She's afraid to participate in anything,in case she made a mistake.She is very mature and tends to stay with the adults rather than the cubs,as she's too shy to play with them. As an adult,she becomes less shy but is still quiet and nervous,but all in all,she's a sweet lioness who has a huge soft spot for young cubs,no matter what pesonality they may have.She's quite motherly and tends to spoil cubs,and will gladly cubsit anyone's cubs without a problem.

History; It wasn't long after Simba became King when Nala fell pregnant with his cubs. At the time it came as a big surprise,and excitement flooded the Kingdom as news quickly spread.Simba was delighted and awaited the arrival of his cub.

Much to everyone's surprise,it wasn't just one cub,but two. They were twins! A boy and a girl. The boy was older and was named Kopa,while the younger girl was named Laini due to her super soft fur.They were presented to the Kingdom and everyone fell in love with them almost immediately.

The boy was a troublemaker and was almost exactly like his father.His sister was the total opposite. As a cub,Laini was always sticking by her mother and never really went anywhere else.This didn't matter much,after all Simba always took Kopa away for his Kingly lessons. Due to this,Laini had a closer bond to her mother Nala.

While Kopa was with Simba,Nala spent a lot of time teaching Laini stuff too. She taught her good manners,told her about hunting even though she wasn't ready to hunt yet,and she told her all about the history of the Pridelands. Laini was always scared of the story of Scar and didn't like it much,so Nala made sure not to retell it.

When Kopa suddenly disappeared,the Kingdom was in shock.Now a young teen,the role of becoming Queen was being passed to Laini... But she refused. Shocked by this,her parents questioned her. But she simply answered,with a panicked expression,that she wasn't cut out for being queen and couldn't stand the thought.It wasn't something she ever wanted to do and begged them not to make her Queen. Saddened but agreeing to their daughters wishes,Simba and Nala were left with a difficult situation.

It proved not to be so difficult when soon later,Nala discovered she was once again pregnant. This brought a wave of relief over the Kingdom and especially the Royal Family. Laini was delighted at the fact of having a younger sibling,but still felt bad about disappointing her parents.This made her feel very upset and she rarely talked,afraid of becoming an even bigger disappointment. 

This made Simba quite worried,but he was too busy with Nala that he didn't get time to spend with his daughter. Laini felt a bit left out,and lonlier than ever.She missed Kopa and wanted her twin brother back.She was worried,wondering what happened because he was so eager to become the King... He wouldn't simply run away without telling her,they had a close bond.He told her everything and often bragged about becoming King,not that Laini minded. 

When her younger sister Kiara was born,Laini couldn't of been happier.She was delighted and found her sister just so adorable.She swore to protect her,even if she herself was a young teen at this point. Now that things were calming down,Simba decided to talk with his first daughter and see what the problem was.

At first,Laini wouldn't say it.She was afraid of Simba thinking she was stupid and ridiculous and all that.Negative thoughts ran through her mind as her father questioned her. Unable to hold it in any longer,Laini admitted everything.She broke down and started to cry as she explained it all,about how she missed Kopa so much,how she felt like she was a big burden to them all,and how she was scared of her sister hating her.

Simba was shocked and suddenly felt quite guilty. He had no idea she was feeling this way for so long,and began to doubt his parenting.He comforted his crying daughter and told her she wasn't a burden.He said he loved her just as much as everyone else in his family and wouldn't ever think she was a burden. He also said that Kiara would grow up loving her and viewing her as an idol.

And he was quite right. 

Kiara grew up following her big sister everywhere she went.Laini didn't mind of course but was often worried she'd get hurt. She played with her sister and didn't care if she was seen as a big child,if she made Kiara happy it was all that mattered. She did that whenever Kiara asked and had no problems. 

Laini felt guilty because Kiara was stuck with becoming Queen,and apparently,she wasn't so happy about the idea either. Nala and Simba told Laini not to feel bad,because Kiara would grow into a great Queen and is quite able for the job. Laini had no choice but to accept this. 

After her first meeting with Kovu,Kiara talked about nothing else. Laini would always hear 'Kovu this' and 'Kovu that'. It was all that was on the cub's mind. Laini found it really cute how she had a little crush on an outlander,and actually liked it.Yes,it was forbidden,but it was cute in her eyes. 

Now a young adult,Laini turned out to be an excellent hunter. Nala was  extremely proud of her and Laini became head of the Hunting party. Though she was nervous about this,Laini proved to be quite skilled and lead the Hunting Party well,just like her grandmother Sarabi.

Laini was liked by everyone in the Pride,and she really enjoyed her life. When Kovu joined she accepted him warmly,much to Kiara's delight.Things became even better when she found out Kopa was indeed alive.He visited often and explained what happened.

Laini lived a long life,and when she died,she was extremely happy...
