Tabuu: While Ujanja did leave Tabuu’s boys, he still considers Tabuu his friend. He trusted Tabuu and still does, and thinks of him as a sort of older brother – something Ujanja never had – and knows very well that he could go back to Tabuu for help.

Kovu: Ujanja doesn’t know Kovu too well, but trusts him nonetheless after he meets him.

Simba: Once a conflict arises between Simba and Zira, Ujanja doesn’t particularly ever want to say it, but does admire and trust Simba, and likes him. He’s afraid to show it or say so, though.

Foes:

Uzuri: Uzuri was a beautiful rogue lioness, who Ujanja was convinced he loved. However, she was simply using him, and once she realized he wasn’t going to fulfill her purposes, Uzuri abandoned Ujanja.

Personality

Personality: On the outside, Ujanja puts up a show of being very aloof and cold, toying with others and manipulating where he can to  get more info. He learned the hard way to never trust until he can draw out the true intentions of others and in result has learned how to do so very well. He is a neutral type, deciding who he can trust at specific junctions of time and choosing to help them, be it for better or worse of everyone else. He is keen in learning who means what they say, and even if it’s a ‘good’ king who is lying – after all, a rogue in the territory can be a danger – and side with their enemy who means it when they say they’ll protect Ujanja.

On the inside, though, once one has managed to stick around him long enough to really gain Ujanja’s trust, they’re in for a shock – on the inside, he really is very earnest and soft-hearted. He’s easily hurt and very heart-felt. He is very quiet in all reality and thoughtful, and enjoys observing. He’s a bit jaded, and seems kind of sad a lot of the time because of that. He also is a bit pessimistic about his own social life, and worries openly to his closest friends about his romantic life – or lack of.

History

After the pride was taken over by Scar, Sarabi was made pregnant by him. She escaped to a pride on the outskirts of the Pridelands that had been touched the least by Scar’s reign – a pride that lived at the edge of Simba’s jungle. This was the home of Tojo and several other male cubs who had been left there to protect them from Scar. Sarabi had her daughter in this pride and left  her there.

This cub grew into Zira, and Tojo soon grew into a natural leader to his pride. Zira admired this and, having taken after her father in all but color, threw herself upon him. When she was soon apparently pregnant, he refused to allow himself to appear weak and did not claim the cub. When he was born, she called him Ujanja. She taught him her ways and treated him harshly, training him to be as cruel as herself.

As soon as Tojo saw this, he cast the cub out as well as Zira. They didn’t stay together and Ujanja was left alone all too early, never to be nourished enough to quite lose his ear-stripes.

Ujanja ended up alone for a long time. Eventually, he met up with the boys – Tabuu’s pride. He was accepted readily and he stayed there for quite some time. But, as he grew, Ujanja figured he didn’t quite belong with them, and as he grew strong enough to care for himself, he left.

It was then that Ujanja met a beautiful rogue lioness. They stayed together for quite some time and soon Ujanja felt as if he was in love with her. Her name was Uzuri. Ujanja hunted for her most of the time, and in fact she was using him for that purpose as well as use for a cub. However when she discovered that, while Ujanja loved her, he did not have the inclination for a cub, she abandoned him.

After this, he closed himself off. He became cold and wary of others. After travelling, he found the pridelands and settled between Simba’s pride and Zira’s, unaware then that his mother lay nearby.
