History

Before Birth: Her mother was one of Zira's most trusted lionesses. Her mother was an active lioness around the males. Later that caused her to become pregnant. She never really wanted  a cub so she decided to get rid of it as soon as it was born. Later she was attacked by another lioness from the pride. She managed to fight off but it was told that the cubs life was at risk now. She didn't mind that since it would make it even easier for her.

After Birth: One night a tiny female cub was born. Her coat was as dark as her mothers and bright blue eyes from her father. It was a miracle that the cub was alive. Many of the lionesses with a cub of their own told her how to look after the newborn cub but why should she listen to that if the cub will be gone soon? She didn't feed the cub properly so she was getting weaker and weaker with every passing day. After a few days she decided it was time. She took the cub away not to far away from the outlands. Before she could finish this a lioness came running towards her. As the lioness came closer she saw that it was Penda one of the huntresses. After a small talk, Penda told the lioness that since she doesn't have her own cubs she would want to take care of the cub. The lioness didn't need a cub so she didn't really care if she would kill it or give it away to some one else. As Penda came back she decided to give a name to her little jewel. After having a think she decided to name her Nagina. 

Nagina wasn't the most popular around the cubs so she often stayed alone. One night she woke up and saw Zira coming back. She was holding something but because of the dark she couldn't make out what it was so Nagina didn't bother about it. In the morning she saw that the thing that Zira arrived with was a cub. He was about her age so she decided to find out more about him. She walked over to the small cub who was sitting in the corner of the cave. She found out that the cub didn't remember much of his past, only that his name was Kovu. Many lionesses asked Zira about the cub but the only thing that she said was that she found him while she was hunting and couldn't just let him die. There weren't many female cubs to choose from so, Zira decided that Kovu's future queen will be Nagina. Penda couldn't say anything against it. They decided that they will tell the two only when they will become teens. They became close friends who would spend most of their time together. One time while they were playing in the outlands she heard another unknown cub. She hid behind an old fallen tree. Kovu was knocked down by the cub. As soon as she saw that it was a pridelander she ran after Zira. 

As she became a teen her mother revealed the fact about her becoming Kovu's queen in the future. Kovu and Nagina were very close but not in that way. After a while she decided that she will leave the pride. Her adopted mother was very sad but she knew that it was the best for her. Later after the escape she found a couple of lions. They told her that they were searching for a place to start their pride. She joined their pride and became a healer for the pride. After the queens death she acted like a mother to princess Furaha.
