Color/Markings:  CJ is a flaxen sorrel chestnut, with tan dapples, off-white socks, and off-white blaze, cream mane and tail(which curl slightly), dark, blood red around his heels on the back legs, and matching muzzle, with matching eyebrows and tipped ears. He has extremely light blue eyes, which he got from his show-horse genes.

Wesley:   The first member of CJ's own Bachelor Band, Wes is a great horse to know. Though rash and harsh appearing for teasing others, CJ quickly bonded with the inwardly sweet stallion. Their rough experiences with their fathers in the past gave the two a thing in common, and made a mutual decision to protect others from the same abuse from them on, including, eventually, each other.

Marty:    A kind, compassionate stallion, Marty has suffered from abuse in his life just like CJ and Wesley, only at the hands of humans. He was captured, abused and beaten, and neglected because no one showed an interest in the yearling. Until, however, a kind lad took the horse in, and showed him true love. Marty has since then been healed of his scars, though they are still present, which sets him apart from the other two. CJ took the gentle, big hearted boy in, and Marty joined the Bachelor Band.

Micala:   As Marty's new mate, CJ solemnly agreed to let the gentle mare, Micala, join the band and travel with them. Though CJ never intended for any mares to be a part of the Band, Marty begged CJ, who couldn't turn the kind stallion down. Now, CJ tries to make the best of the situation, and follows kind Noelle's lead in accepting and attempting to accept the warm-hearted mare.

Hoover:   Being blind, deaf in one ear, injured and presumably dead is enough reason for any horse to give in and become just that. But not Hoover. Being a soldier mount, and serving in nearly a dozen battles, Hoover posses an unmatched will to survive, and that he did. CJ found the young stallion, shot and barely alive in the trail of a devastating human battle. Forgetting his own troubles, CJ did his best to help this horse heal and survive. Hoover eventually came to grips with his disabilities, and learned to trust fully on CJ and his own instincts and fellow Band members. CJ showed his intense admiration for the stallion for the first time when he asked Hoover to lead the band. Hoover agreed. Relying on his friends to help him, Hoover still homes a strong trust with CJ, and it is to CJ that he would go if an intense fear or panic were to strike him. CJ shows great faith in the blind leader, but is very open about what Hoover can and can't do without help, to which he would unashamedly offer assistance.

Noelle(crush):   Having selflessly defended the victimized young mare from a pair of rogues, CJ had the tables violently turned on him as a reward. Afterwards, taking time for his body, ego, and psyche to heal, CJ ran into the mare again, and cautiously approached. After he introduced himself, his calm, confident demeanor eventually eased the mare into opening up to this stallion, and by the next evening, she was coming back with him to meet the rest of his band. Noelle is a sweet, timid, insecure, but beautiful young mare, and CJ immediately took her safety and well-being as his responsibility, with her permission, and cherishes every single little thing the fragile creature does. Eventually, Noel came to trust CJ, and even started venturing out of her shell, but until that happened, CJ patiently and kindly waited for her to do so on her own. He would never hurt Noel, and would come close to killing, even his own Band mates if they ever even dared to. Noel is his most cherished thing on the Earth, and watching her grow and blossom makes him more proud than anything else on the Earth could have even come close to.

A group of 4-5 close knit stallions (and maybe even a mare) that have been attracted to each other thanks to their similar abuses in the past. Starting with CJ and Wesley, the each member of the "group" took an official agreement to stand up against their personal abuse, and were eventually drawn into a tight band thanks to it. They roam around, righting wrongs, helping other outcasts, those who are suffering abuse, and settling family disputes. Trouble follows them around, but they always manage to correct and pull through together. Though mares have never been a problem, one day, each horse will settle down with a lucky, caring, and kind sheila, but until then, their allegiance is to the group, to each other, and their fight against abuse.

Personality:  CJ is what you would call, "a classic sidekick character." He's a realist, and has a tendency to be lazy or even tease, but his heart is pure gold, and he will NEVER hurt another living creature. "Matter of fact" is the phrase that best describes CJ, who is not shy in sharing his opinion, unless it has the possibility of hurting someone, in which case he'll keep it to himself. He used to be flirtatious, insecure, and terrified of everything, but CJ has always been a "go-getter," and when he realized that having a close friend did wonders in healing his many scars and fears, befriending everyone he met became a new goal in life. Though he is seen as cocky, he's a gentleman, and will never bother or hurt a mare, besides some brief "sport flirting," which goes with his charming personality.

Likes: Being liked, making new friends, a plan that comes together, his mates (the other Band members), and having a sense of right by protecting others. He especially like Noelle, hint hint. :)

Dislikes:  Bullies, abusive horses, tears, and being caught on the spot.

Biography: CJ is a complex character, but everything that he is now can be explained by looking back.

Colt- Unfortunately, CJ was inappropriately abused by his father at a very young age, when everyone in the herd, as well as he parents, thought that the gingerly, graceful newborn was a filly. The truth didn't stop his father though, who continued this abuse, hoping to somehow change his feminine son into his dream daughter. CJ was picked on and bullied because of this abuse, and for being so feminine. This is when CJ's strange desire to be loved by stallions started. His father hated him, and the other colts laughed at him, and the colt (starving for love) began wanting nothing more than to be accepted, and to have a father, and other colts who would love him even if he was "filly-like".

Yearling- As soon as he mustered up the nerve, CJ left the group. He hadn't matured mentally, and was scared by this want for love. He soon found a mare, and his heart flipped. He did the one thing that any yearling his age would do, he began flirting with her. His grace and elegance made him irresistible, and he felt loved, until she wanted to mate, then the horrors of his young life came back and he fled in a panicked frenzy. Several stallions kicked him out of their lands immediately, because of the rumors that spread about the yearling, and many beat the crying young stallion. He didn't understand why, and believed that the only things mares wanted was to mate, while the only things that stallions wanted was to beat you. He had learned, however, that flirting got attention, and the only relationships he had ever known started that way, so that's what he was left with.

Stallion-  CJ was then left a loner, and had taken to the desert where he discovered that he could avoid bulling stallions when he was out there, not to mention that he found himself adapting well to the heat. He continued to struggle with a desire of being accepted by stallions, and a fear of them, despite his fear. He tried to avoid mares, but he couldn't help but cautiously flirt with them, and he learned that his flamboyant and flirtatious way fazed every mare he met, and he was convinced that no other mare would love him for him. He is still a gentleman with them, and protects mares to his death, while the case is quite opposite when it came to stallions.

After living with a tough, closely knit Bachelor Band for years, CJ's confidence and self worth grew in leaps and bounds. He is now very confident, even cocky, and has a hard time admitting defeat, like his father had. Because of his show horse blood, he lacks strength, speed, and agility, but is the smoothest talker in the country side, and has the sweet moves to back it up! He will talk his way out of anything, or at least stall long enough for back up to arrive. He takes his "Bachelor Buddies" very seriously, and is a happy member of the team. Though they often jokes about mares picking the group apart, CJ secretly wonders why they can't live together even with their mates, and waits patiently for a mare to sweep him off his hooves. Still being a flirt, most of his compliments are genuine, and he has a deep respect and admiration for all mares that he meets, instantly rushing to aid them if need be, even without thinking, which is very much unlike him.

On a solo adventure, CJ stumbled upon a young, timid mare, who was being teased and messed with by some rogues. Infuriated (all of is buttons pushed at once), CJ sped toward the group, and leapt between the mare and the rogues. His nostrils flared, his ears were pinned back, and his heart raced. The rogues laughed at the "hero" and starting teasing the stallion, who hadn't managed to shake his pasts reputation. The rogues then attacked CJ, and started messing with him, calling him things like a "pansy" and "lover boy." CJ fought back, but was over powered, and the only thing that brought some relief was that the mare was safe, safe, but soon chased after. CJ fiercely attacked the stallion who bolted after the young mare, which only rewarded him a violent violation. Humiliated, fighting past demons, and too ashamed to return to his friends, CJ stayed by a waterfall, and rested, trying to regroup. But then, he heard violent splashing and a shriek, and was soon at the other side of the deep basin. It was the same mare from before, who had only freaked at a shadow. CJ cautiously approached the young mare, and asked gently if she was alright. At first the mare didn't respond, but only stared at him, confused and scared, but CJ's calm, confident demeanor helped her relax considerably. By the next evening, CJ was escorting his new, cherished responsibility back to the Band, and introduced her. Noelle stayed with CJ for many months after that, glued to his shoulder, and eventually trusted him fully, and even started coming out of her shell and meeting new horses on the Band's adventures.
