History/Bio

Funesto was not always known as he is. He was born in the Lakota tribe. His father was Great wind, a horse in the tribe prized very much for his speed. Funesto's name to the Lakotas was Dark Cloud. For his coat like stormy skys. He was fast, and had a very kind rider . He was a warrior, and they went into battle together,..He had good friends, like Strong Wind and the other Lakota horses including Rain. But all that changed, when little creek disapeared, and then returned with a strange horse,..from the cavalry. He did not like this buckskin horse. He would let no one ride him, he did not understand their ways, and was mean to Little creek.

And he kept hanging around Rain, even after they were tied together and he understood more. He liked Rain, he despised the buckskin stallion. And it got worse,..the lakota horses seemed to like him,..he didn't,..never even made contact with him. Ecxept for strong wind,..he wasn protective of his sister, thay was understandable. But he despised that horse. And it did notend there,..the cavalry showed up,...And they killed his Rider,..and several of his friends, like Swift arrow, and Slow River. Poor old Slow River. And they took so many horses,...even the three who got along with the buckskin,..but not him,..The buckskin was gone,..Rain had been shot!  He despised alll horses that came from the cavalry,..It was all their fault! And Rain might not make it,..

He left the Lakotas after that,..their was nothing for him there,.....Rain was shot,..his rider dead.,...the camp destroyed,..He had nothing to return to . Everthing he valued was destroyed. And it was all that awful horse's fault for bringing the cavalry to them. He decided he would not wander the wilderness knowing what he lost and it being un-avenged. And the one responsible still out there. He wanted vengence! He returned to the lakotas to find they were alright,..with some old friends missing. But then he heard that Rain had left,....And not only left,...but with that stallion, that destroyed their home! And had led to her being shot! She survived that only to leave with him! He decided,..he would find this horse,..he would have his revenge. From then on,..no one recognized him as Dark Cloud,...They called him Funesto,..Baneful one, Cruel one, evil one,....He was someone else now.

Funesto searched and searched, running into many other challengers who fought him. Making quite a name for himself. Along the way, he was known a Funesto the cruel stalllion all over. Finally, he found what he was looking for,...The Cimmaron herd. Spirit's herd. He saw him,..The Buckskin stallion,..watching over his herd, and,....Rain. But not only Rain,...she had a little foal at her side. Funesto had found them. But he would wait.  Not now,...but later. So he waited.

He then challenged Spirit one day. He Came onto a hill and rang out his challenge. Spirit stood tall and warned him once, to leave. Spirit didn't toloerate pointless young bachelor challengers. But the strange stallion still persisted. They fought, and of course Spirit won. But he persisted, and persisted still. But every now and then he waited. He planned. He didn't just show up, he showed up at opurtune moments. The best moments to get him off guard. But it never worked!

So then he waited for a while. He was running out of ideas. Thats when he met Acheron. Acheron had a hate just as much as his for Spirit, and his son too!  Thats when  he joined Acheron's herd. The shadow woods herd. There he had many horses like himself. Some had nothing personally against Spirit. Most were just bad horses. There was rarely a horse Funesto really liked there,(Excluding maybe Acheron and Suspira) But there was something about FrostBite, that old Grey mare he didn't like. But he ignored it.
