History:

Tanzen was the last foal that Alma ever had. He was born a day or two before Spirit, his nephew. Cedar loved spending time with his son, and Tanzen enjoyed spending time with his father. The two were the best of friends.

After a while, Tanzen was forced out of the heard. He didn't put up a fight, and left without the use of force. Tanzen ran into his half-sister, Esperanza, and her son, Spirit. Spirit took a liking to the stallion and let him stay near the herd.

When Spirit got caught, Esperanza begged Spirit to go and find him. Tanzen, while worried about his half-nephew, hesitated, not wanting to leave the herd without a stallion. Esperanza managed to convince him to go.

Tanzen found the Lakota Village, and walked through it. He looked through it and didn't see Spirit. He was startled when he heard fast aproaching hoofbeats, and two-legs shouting. Tanzen saw the cavalry as it headed toward the village. Chaos happened, and he tried to navigate his way through the commotion. Tanzen halted at the edge of the river. He couldn't believe his eyes, only able to watch in horror as Spirit jumped into the fast moving water to rescue Rain.

Tanzen was soon captured by the Cavalry. Instead of pulling the train, the Colonel used Tanzen as his own personal mount. This confused Tanzen. The Colonel had Granite. Why would he need another horse as his own.

The Colonel whipped Tanzen and shouted at him constantly so he would keep up with the other horses. He heard a man shout from the line of horses pulling a train. "Get the mules up here!". Tanzen's eyes widened as he saw Spirit being pulled by two mules. His eyes began to water when suddenly he saw Spirit's eyes flash open, and break the other horses free. The last he saw of his nephew was Spirit charging from the train, and the forest burst into flames.

Tanzen tried to buck the Colonel off, but he kept whipping him, and yanking on the reigns. Tanzen had enough, and with one big buck, he sent the Colonel flying. Tanzen ran into the flaming forest to try and find Spirit. No luck.

He wandered the forest all night, and saw the Lakota Village. Or, at least the new one. Tanzen saw Rain. She was recovering from her injury. "Is Spirit okay?" Tanzen asked her. She explained Little Creek went to find Spirit. Tanzen decided to stay, in hopes of seeing Spirit again, and keeping the promise he made to Esperanza.

Tanzen was awoken from his afternoon nap by Little Creek's whistle, and Spirit and Rain neighing. He watched as Spirit and Rain galloped off, thinking to himself 'That's what a legend looks like'

Shortly after Spirit and Rain left, Little Creek took Tanzen in as his new horse.
