The puppy returns

I've used some evedece and idea's of why one of the dogs in Ballto III may be one of the Wolf Quest puppies.

Fire_paw :

                    The puppy returns

While watching Balto three I saw this dog (Below) and it came in mind that it could possibly be one of the puppies from WQ. I know it looks a bit brownish to be one,(This may also be beause off my computer screen, or where the picture has been converted to jpg) \But I'll now explain why I think this. (The dog looked more red in the film, try watching Balto III, it's the last dog in the sled team)

------------------------------------------------------------------------

Ok, this is a puppy chart showing each face of the puppies. And their colours.Saba and the last Unknown pup are the closest matches.

Unnamed  Saba     Alue        Kodi          Dingo     No name

 -----------------------------------------------------------

Now below is the puppies that couldn't possible be this dog. Alue is defiantly not this dog, as she went across the sea with the wolf clan as their leader in Balto II Wolf Quest. Kodi can not be him, as we all know what Kodi looks like in Balto III. And it is not the red faced pup, reason being it has markings on its face. Dingo has the same markings as Alue, but not the same as this dog. So that just leaves Saba and the other unknown puppy.

 -----------------------------------------------------------

Now I've looked closely, judging by the dogs look I'd say it was a male dog. The unknown puppy also, in my view looks like a male. I've done some colour tests, the dog has purple black eyes, and the unknown pup has Black, Saba, however has blue eyes.

------------------------------------------------------------

Now for the fur. Yes, the dogs fur is slightly more brownish. (Which may just be my screen or the jpg. format)

But considering the facts. In Balto II it was daylight and the puppy was bright red, however in Balto III, the dog is in the shadow of one of the houses. Also, Kodi's colour changed a lot from since he was a puppy. And in the film, the dog on trhe back of the sled team is a little more red.

The puppy fur      The dog fur         Puppy

       Kodi ^          Kodi(Adult) ^        The dog ^

 -----------------------------------------------------------

Now back to the face markings. See that the marking are very similar, Apart from the top of the head where there is a small triangular shape, of white fur pointing upwards on the puppy.

The fur points inwards just below the eyes on both dogs. The fur points out wards in line with the upper mouth.

 -----------------------------------------------------------

These are my reasons of what I think,

I have to disagree. The adult dog isnt even a husky. Aside from Balto's father, who we never get to see, Steele and Jenna are the only purebred Huskie's in the Balto movies. The only other dog remotely resembling a Husky is Dusty, and she, like all of the other sled dogs, is an Alaskan Malamute. In that era, Siberian Huskies were very few and very rare outside of Siberia, and Malamutes were favored because of their larger muscle tone and durability. If you don't beleive me, simply rewatch the movies and pay attention. All of the dogs besides Jenna, Balto, Steele, and the pups, have a burly muscular build, very large paws(larger than Balto's), striaght or lighly curled tails, and shorter, broader muzzles. Steele resembles a malamute, but his muzzle is much longer and more tapered, he has tiny paws, his hips are narrow, and his tail is tightly curled. Huskies in Balto also retain either a deep red or jet black outer coat, and the characteristic "V and kiss mark" markings on their foreheads, where the Malamutes, like in real life, can be any color, and have either a straight accross brow, or a bridged muzzle, like Dusty. The dog in the photograph clearly has a straight tail, burly body, and a broad snout, as well as khaki colored fur, that cuts of straight accross his face. He is clearly a malamute. The pointed areas of white exist on all of the dogs, solid or not, as it is how the artist shows that the dogs have thick fur on their necks. That said, I do not beleive that the dog in the picture is Balto and Jennas pup.

This dog can`t be one of the Balto`s and Jenna`s pups.

1) The last pup on the picture is Dingo and not the unknown pup.
2) Dog and Dingo have the same markings on the muzzle, but they have different markings on their paws.
3) In the begining of WoC we can see that when Balto and Jenna came to sled dogs, only Kodi came to them. If those dog was balto`s and Jenna`s child, it would came to them and say hello, isn`t it?

No. That cant be true. There are tons of dogs wondering around in Balto 3- you dont always need to make a fuss over what character it is. So just calm down.. Its only a random husky.

As carribbeanlady said. But I have noticed on Balto three,
that after Jenna says that line she turns around and begins
talking to the dogs behind Balto and Kodi."
You two refers to Balto and Kodi.

Well, first of all Saba is a girl and the unknown dog there looks more like a boy to me. Second, the last no-named pup is Dingo, and the one you put as dingo is unnamed pup. It's in the end credits of the movie. Dingo speaks when he jumps on Aleu, before Saba and his voice is listed before Saba, and the red Aleu pup doesn't speak, and last, the dog has the wrong markings. it doesn't have the peak on it's head like 4 of the pups have, and the other 2 are the unnamed pup and Aleu. And If it was, then it would have been adopted by the same child as Kodi, because he must own this dog aswell.

Ok, well thought out, but most likely it isn't one of the puppies. Just some random dog. But, by the way, the one you think it is does have a name. His name is Dingo. They even said so in the movie. It's only red-faced pup and bar-nosed pup that have no names.

Yeah, what jerseycaptain said.

Besides, the
writers put little to no effort in these sequels, so why would they
bother to add in little things like that?

Incidentally, Fire_paw, it's "Aleu"... (man, how many forum topics,
answers to questions, and articles do there have to be to get people
in line with this? )...

No offense meant...but this really does get annoying, how frequently it occurs on Balto fan sites...

As to the small chart of puppies included in your article, you need to
reverse the last two. Please note the following:

http://baltosource.timduru.org/board/viewtopic.php?f2&t23387

I also agree with others who have commented that the dog you
mentioned couldn't be any of Balto & Jenna's pups. Indeed, the colors
are wrong. Further, had the writers wished to infer (or establish)
that this was one of their pups, they would have made it more
apparent.

Nope. As I see it, this is simply a random dog
placed into the opening sequences to give further nod to the fact that
Nome was a dog-centric town (and still is, as I've been there myself
this year, and can verify that fact. If you go to the True Story
board in the forum, and go to my topic on the pics from my trip to
Alaska, you'll see the post about Nome dogs, with pics in it).

You did a nice job of analysis, but I do believe your
conclusions are wrong.

For one, the dog is brown and all the puppies are clearly red except
Aleu.
For another, the closeness in their faces could simply be
a result in the likeness of ways that the Artist draws the dogs. The
facial structures would of course be similiar.
And for last,
that dog looks absolutely nothing like any of the pups. and in fact
looks way older than any pup in the litter would be. That is plainly
not one of the pups, or else you would probably see Jenna and Balto
saying hi or something not ignoring it and such.
Good article
though, I could tell you were trying pretty hard to find the
likeness'.

Great article! I never noticed that, so you did an awesome job! I
strongly agree with you, that could be a pup! (By the way, I agree on
who you believe is Dingo. He is the red Aleu twin.)

I think it is a great article...and you have evidence to support your
theory, I think you are right, though you could be wrong, ive watched

I don't think the two are similar.
1. the the pup and the dog
are in no way close in color.
2. The puppies have white
triangles reaching up between their eyebrows, that grown up dog
doesn't.

Nice article though.

WOW! You obviously put A LOT of effort into doing this! Perhaps you
could be a detective? But I have to agree with carribbeanlady and the
rest, that this probably isn't the pup. That's just what I think, but
no matter what anyone says, you put a lot of work into this article
and no one can change that. Good work!

Nice, but I also disagree. Ever think it may just be another
dog on the sled team? That's like trying to say that some of
the dogs in Balto 1 are someone's bro, sis, mom, or dad,
just because they look alike.

good article but.. wouldn't the puppy and the dog look more
simular than that since all the pups like Alue and Kodi
sorta look like themselves even after growing up.. and they
resemble like their parents..

Also note that none of the pups in WQ had the solid-coloured
legs like that dog does.

Quote from the movie: "Good luck you two!" This could have
been towards the unnamed pup (who I personally like to call
Barrow) and Kodi, joking that Balto wouldn't need help
because he's done it before.

Very, very nice
article. I'm going to agree
