Background:

Was first born to 

Cheveyo  and  Olathe ,  was also the largest, and grew quickly. Due to seeing his father be shot by a hunter on a hunt, Achak hates humans with a passion, and would sooner kill one than look at them. It is also true of dogs since they follow humans. Luckily the pack territory is human free, and far from any towns, though the closest one is Nome.While Achak was too young to take the alpha position after his father died,  Kanook , the beta at the time, took the responsibility with  Olathe , also the ones to train and teach Achak what he would need to know to lead. Once mature enough, Achak took charge, and his natural dominant traits kicked in for the role quickly. The rest of the pack followed him loyaly with complete trust.

While on a scouting mission by himself during a storm after hearing that humans were close, Achak ended up following a team of sled dogs on the edges of the territory. Witnessing the human beat and abandon his lead dog for biting him, he found himself strangely curious, and investigated more closely. It was then he realized the dog was a hybrid, having wolf blood more dominant in her genes. And though he hated humans and their dogs, Achak ended up staying with the red hybrid through the storm, lying on her to keep her warm, not understanding why. The next day back at the caves the pack lived in, a scout alerted them to an intruder. It turned out to be the hybrid from the storm, who had followed his scent after waking up. She wanted to join the pack, introducing herself as Kiona and at first Achak refused. But still feeling drawn to the sled dog, after she defeated one of his female pack-mates, Kita he allowed her to join, impressed. However, he didn't make it easy for her at first, wanting to test her will and endurance in the wild.

After getting to know each other and growing close over the course of about a year, the two fell in love and became mates, making Kiona the alpha female of the pack. That spring they had four cubs, but unfortunately one was stillborn. But it wasn't long after this that Kiona brought in a stray hybrid she'd found out in the territory. She'd named him Hokee, and he was clearly abandoned and malnourished. Achak was angry at her for wanting to keep him, and said no, to bring him into town and leave him, but she stubbornly kept him, raising him as her own, while he wanted nothing to do with the cub.

When Kiona unexpectedly died from an aneurysm after defending Hinto, Tonrar, Nayeli, and Hokee from a bear, everyone was devistated, and Achak became quiet and somewhat distant. It was only after this loss did he begin to try and accept Hokee, knowing it was what his mate would have wanted. They soon became close after comforting each other after Kiona's death. But Achak soon started thinking about his future when the cub became very sick, and ended up bringing him to Nome one day after he had recovered, intending to leave him there, thinking it would be better for him. There, they met Balto, Boris,  Muk and Luk, as well as Hokee's real father, Kaltag. When given the opportunity when Hokee was distracted catching up with everyone, Achak left town back to the territory.
