He is more of a follower than a leader, and doesn’t always take initiative like he should, much to his sister Chena’s chagrin. Dislikes: Being lost, being bossed around, big shots, bears, fires
History: Cooper was the middle child of Kaltag and Esper, the light brown dog seen fawning over Steele in the beginning of Balto 1. He always loved to run and race with his older sister Chena, and even from a young age he expressed interest in being a sled dog like his father. Kaltag’s owner, the musher of Kaltag’s team, decided to give Cooper and Chena to his twenty-something son to train the two dogs to become champions like their father. Cooper enjoyed training, but Chena was always a little better than him, and she really let it get to her head, which annoyed Cooper.
As he got a little older, Cooper made some friends: Balto’s son Yukon, Nikki’s son Shiloh, and Star’s son Cosmo. The four of them would parade around Nome and get into silly situations, and Yukon was the leader of the group. Eventually, Cooper had to take on more responsibility when Kaltag and Star went out of commission, and he and Chena took their spots on the racing team. They became the team dogs and were lead by Balto, who had taken Steele’s spot after he left Nome. Cooper was a bit of a slacker, much to Balto's chagrin. However, he still contributed a lot to the team and helped them to win championships every year.
About a year or so later, a husky named Taiga joined the racing team. Cooper fell in love with her instantly, and eventually the feelings became mutual and they became mates. They ended up having two litters of puppies. Now that he was a husband and a father, Cooper didn’t have as much time to roughhouse with his buddies, but he still made time for them and never forgot how to have fun.
