Personality: Maw-Maw, is a very skittish, quiet, and naive girl. very passive and unsure of herself. She doesn't have the grit of being a polar mother. Yet even so she is very kind, caring and motherly. she may not be the smartest of the best of mothers but she is full of love. she has a soft spot for orphaned animals and will take any in up until the point they can survive on their own.

Likes: She enjoys playing on the Ice and swiming. Maw-maw is a very good swimmer and Loves to fish. she likes to have a friend around as she was never good at being alone. Likewise, she enjoys making new friends.

Dislikes: Humans, she doesn't trust them, as she has seen too many of her kind killed by them for fur, meat, and bones.  Mice and Cats, Maw-maw has a slight phobia of these, even as big as she is, they are just too small, fast and  wriggly.

History:

Maw-Maw mated quickly in life and was a very young mother. inexperienced as she was with cubs she was still very excited when Muk and Luk were born and very doting  with them the first few days. However, Maw-Maw's maternity den was not dug in an isolated area and was found by "The Bear"  It would seem he was trying to claim the territory as his own being a young male. Maw-Maw, grabbing her cubs fled from the den and hide Muk and Luk in shallow makeshift den to keep them warm while she lead The Bear away.

Leading The Bear away wasn't as simple as Maw-Maw had thought. he wanted all bears and new mothers out of "his" new territory.  being twice her size, Maw-maw couldn't take him on sufficiently, as her heart rate had not gone back up yet from having birthed her cubs. but she fought back at times when he caught up to her. again scratches and bites here and there. She had ran far from her den and cubs. However with The Bear still making chase, she could not go back. her only option was to wear him out. but he was furious at her and would not let up, not even after she had ran out of the territory.

Weak now and exhausted Maw-maw was near giving up, she crumpled to the ground in the open snow drifts near the base of a cliff. Cornered.

When a howl sounded in the distance. 

The Bear turned around and Maw-maw looked up both in awe of the large white wolf that seemed to be gazing into The Bear's soul. The two watched each other for a moment, and then. just like that, The Bear left. The White Wolf watched The Bear  go before padding up to Maw-Maw who blacked out.

When she came too she saw that The White wolf had stayed with her, yet the moment she woke, he got up and left her. She was safe now and his work was done. or was it?

Maw-maw tried to head back to her cubs. but she had gotten herself lost. and could not find  the way back. she had been blindly running away out of fear. After wandering around aimlessly trying to remember the way. Maw-maw noticed a familiar figure far off in the distance. It was him, The White Wolf. But just as quickly as he appeared he was gone again. Looking down in despair, Maw-Maw noticed paw prints in the snow, large wolf prints and she followed them.

The Prints lead her back to where she had hidden the cubs. she thanked The White Wolf in her heart and moved the snow away from the small hiding spot. but Muk and Luk were not there. Frightened, Maw-maw searched the area. but all she found of them were tiny paw prints and a goose feather.

Maw-Maw was heartbroken but had to find her cubs, so she set out in search for them blindly. she didn't sleep, she didn't eat, she just walked. and this nearly killed her.

Half dead, She was found by yet another wolf. he was young and seemed to be all alone. He found Maw-Maw struggling to stand and move forward in the forest, she was very underweight and looked frail for a bear. He waited until she slept before bringing her an elk carcass in the night. when morning came. Maw-Maw quickly ate without asking questions and when she looked up, Nava was there. He was a young wolf but he looked very wise. and something about him reminded her of The White Wolf. Nava asked her for her story and she told him.

When she was done, Nava told her that she would never find her cubs if she didn't take care of her own health. He offered her a safe place to stay with his sister and their small pack. Maw-Maw was unsure, but the Pack didn't disagree to having a large bear on their side. let alone something that could help hunt. Aniu and Nava welcome Maw-Maw in and very soon they became her family.

But soon it was time for Maw-maw to search again. she had already let several years pass by, of course she was searching then too just not widespread. now it was clear she had to travel farther. and that's what she did. and she did so for over a year.

When finally.

As Maw-maw neared closer to the towns of Alaska. She was spotted and called out by a funny looking Goose. Her name was Stella, and she said that Maw-maw reminded her of two bears that she knew. Maw-maw wasn't very hopeful anymore, and dismissed it, nearly all Polar bears looked alike anyway. But Stella was persistent and would not stop honking at her until she would at least go and meet them. So Maw-maw followed Stella to an old shipwreck. 

She was greeted by a grumpy old Gander named Boris. who seemed to dislike her instantly. and following after him were Muk and Luk. Maw-Maw recognized her cubs instantly and ran to them. even though they had never truly seen her, Muk and Luk knew exactly who she was, and after years of searching Maw-maw was finally able to embrace her cubs.

Boris treated Maw-Maw poorly for a long time, both hating her for leaving her cubs behind and for fear that she would take the boys he had raised as son's away. however after hearing Maw-maw's story. He understood, and she vowed not to take Muk and Luk away, as they were adults now, and could travel were they wanted. She  said goodbye and left back to find Nava and the pack that had become her family.

Relation to Balto: Mother of Muk and Luk, was attacked by "The Bear", Saved by The White Wolf, given shelter and a home by Aniu & Nava, and Reunited with her sons with the help of Stella.
