Alyx is tricky to render realistically without shading or smudging because the middle parts of her coat are darker because, well you know, it does not have to be perfect, all people have there own ways of rendering, usually with athena I just do patches instead of smudging, it works better for her coat but with Alyx smudging works better. Please, you don't have to get Alyx's coat perfect, I never do it the same way, just keep ing mind she has some darker areas, but if you want to make her all one color, that's fine BTW I'm doing a quick ref of athena for you. I'll get it to you in a few minutes.

BTW (sorrt for so many comments) But if you want I could try to do Athena's new ref, It might take me a while, but I'll try to get it done before you start our trade. It does not matter to me, I have even gotten her design wrong a few times, but her ref sheet really is not all that close right now. (I'm using the term "ref" very loosely, she really does not have one )

the sable fur pattern on characters such as Alyx does not have to be exact. Also on Athena, if you want more ref of her without my complex shading look at lovejay's gallery, she does more simplistic renders of Athena, thanks again for trading with me

I don't shade refs anymore, my new ref sheets such as / [...] tml&numart=23052&display=10000 and / [...] tml&numart=23052&display=10000 only have blandgin on them because my character style do not have just flat coats with tears of color, that looks very sloppy in my style, I'm very sorry Athena does not have s good ref sheet yet, I'm working on it, many of my characters do not. But the smudging I do will stay on even in refs because it's part of the fur pattern.
