Hmm. Maybe it's some story boards? production drawings? Has he been a bad dog LOL? You are half right Mighty, there are some production drawings and storyboards in there but also 4 original screen used backgrounds Here are 2 of them: Hospital Attachment: ADS_8254.jpg Alley Attachment: ADS_8256.jpg What is interesting is that the hospital one isn't on a board like all the others... Also all backgrounds have the same signature on them (as do all the others that I have) but I haven't worked out who that is who signed them all. I'll look it up at some point. What I'd love to do is paint a cel for each of these boards and then have them all framed. Unfortunately I don't have a copy of the corresponding production drawings to do this so I may have to resort to making some line art from a screenshot.
XD Oh yes, a VERY bad dog. lol, No, he's in with some other stuffed animals (in a storage tub). I need to drag him out of there and put him back in my room. Wow, those backgrounds are sweet! If you eventually create some cels to mount on the backgrounds, I'd love to see the final result. I've been wanting to digitalize my 35mm color slides from my press kit. I've tried to use my DSLR, but I don't have a good setup to do that. Plus I only have a kit lens, so macro photography is impossible! I don't have a fancy scanner either. Here is my stuff: Sitting JennaAs I mentioned above, she's in very good condition. Her left eye, however, has some scratches on it. Laying JennaI personally don't like this version of Jenna much. I think she would have looked a lot nicer if they wouldn't have made her white fur the same length as the red fur. Press kit, DVD (in shrink wrap) book I forgot re-size this one, so here is a link instead. https://i.imgur.com/2TSZB6Q.jpgVHSI may go back and take a better picture. I was just being lazy last night lol PosterIt doesn't look that bad in the picture, but you can see some sort of blotches (I'm guessing maybe it's water stains?) under "his adventure is one you'll never forget". Real Balto PlushI personally like this Balto better than the one they have now. The only complaint I have about this plush is the color. Balto was black in life, and this plush seems to be taking on the color of his faded mount (not as extreme as that, but it clearly isn't black). Balto also didn't have these white patches around his eyes (at least not prominent. If you look closely, there is a hint of lighter areas around his eyes in some photos: http://blog.cleveland.com/pdworld/2007/10/balto.jpg) while he was alive either. If any did appear, it was more than likely an age thing. But I have to believe these patches appeared as his pelt faded. ^ Sorry for mini rant Mug

Very nice Mighty. Looks like you and I are keeping this forum alive right now I agree about the laying down Jenna - I always thought that she looked a bit odd with the longer fur on the white areas... like she has hasn't shaved her face for a few days lol. The real Balto related items are very cool too, I guess that took some artistic license with the plush to make him match the mount to avoid questions. I've also thought about digitising the slides in the press kit but I haven't had great results. What I did was use an off camera speed light, diffused it with a sheet of paper, placed a frame (in this case from the trailer) on it, adjusted exposure on manual most and took the photo. The result is below.... (note that I don't have a macro lens and if I recall I think I did this with the 35mm 1.8 prime lens and had to crop heavily to almost 100% - now I have a better lens in my bag I might give it another go) Attachment:

What is quite cool is that years ago I bought a whole load of Xeroxed copies of the production drawings available when Universal were producing the limited edition cels. This is in that catalogue as are the other drawings I now own Attachment:

I wish I owned some production drawings. I would have endless amounts of fun coloring them in Photoshop XD I did do that a few times... I even printed them on acetate to see what would happen. This was using the Xerox copies of the animation art... http://fluke.theicecave.org/cells.shtmlAlso for your interest, this was in the box too - an original key drawing of Balto. Key drawings are pre-production drawings that give the artists all the information that they need to draw that particular frame. Attachment:

Here's some story boards too (first of about 25!). I picked ones that I liked the look of mostly and although a couple of these are quite "cartoony" it was the expressions etc that caught my eye Attachment:

That's it Mighty - very nicely done. I'm tempted to scan in a load of the copies I have and make them available for people as line art. Only problem is time as it isn't easy with the printer that I have. Oh and here are 3 more story boards: Attachment:

Nice Mighty, I think they are better when they have clearly been loved and treasured in a way rather than in mint condition... that is unless they are for sale in which case I wouldn't want someone else's love lol. Keep and treasure them! Here is a rather lovely original production drawing - you may have seen it on eBay a while back and I couldn't resist it! Attachment:

Figured I would chime in as well lol
I've been an avid collector for a long time, and just started to sell off my items on EBay, but I don't know if I can get rid of all of it! I have some attachment to this stuff.
Currently, I have:
Balto Merlin Sticker Album A 35mm film reel - advertisement for the film - about 3 minutes (my favorite piece) French lobby cards Some storyboards, and 2 hand painted backgrounds Complete US press kit
I'm not really into the toys, and just sold all my plushies and KFC figures, as they don't appeal to me as much as film memorabilia.
If I decide to collect again I'd want to get my paws on a premiere booklet, tickets and perhaps a sericel.
FOR ANYONE WHO THINKS A 20TH ANNIVERSARY DVD WILL COME OUT - I work for a very large toy company, the one that originally sold the Balto plushies (hint hint) and I can tell you that I have not seen any evidence of a celebratory DVD. I know every movie that will come out in the next 3 years, and well as all merchandise that is setup a year in advance. No Balto merch :/ just thought I would dispel any myths from what I know.
