My daemon has no name, is a male, and is unsettled, but he just loves the form of serval. Plus, it fits me quite well.
I believe daemons don't really exist as animals, but envisioning the voice in your head we all hear sometimes as an animal of some sort helps us to understand ourselves better. That's my guess of what daemons are - they don't exist as spirits or something, but are a part of you, they have no real form, because they can't have a form but envisioning a form is an easier way to think to yourself, IMHO.
