Jenna has a slight talent I admit but she definetly could have been better. The one part that really stood out to me though as exceedingly good is as follows:

Trust in your son,
he's more than what he seems.
Like you he can run,
like you he has dreams too...

I was honestly shocked that Jenna's singing was not all that outstanding, as Jodi Benson is a PHENOMENAL singer...a recent video of her performing "Part of Your World" live confirms that she's still got as perfect a set of pipes as ever. Her voice varies for different characters, though, so I reckon she deliberately doesn't sing the same way for them all, either. That does make sense, differentiating and suiting the musical style to each one; it's not as though she's ever sung poorly, to my knowledge! Jenna's voice WAS pleasant and lovely, no doubt. ^^ Maybe Jodi decided that she simply wasn't quite as great a singer as other characters she's played (namely Ariel, and Thumbelina.)

I really am very surprised that the Jenna song did not affect me more, because as I said...Jodi simply has one of the most astoundingly, breathtakingly, arrestingly, captivatingly, stunningly, perfectly, purely beautiful and glorious voices ever to emanate from a humanoid creature and to bless any ear on Earth...EVER. :alien: Her singing as Ariel and Thumbelina is most notable. As a kid, I never even fully appreciated her in the role of Thumbelina. What a fool I was; now I can't get over it. Particularly in the opening "Thumbelina" number, the song "Soon," and the "Let Me Be Your Wings" reprise. Utterly, incredible, sound. Crystalline. Etheral. Divine.

Now that I think about it her voice was quite exceptional! She sang beautifully and hit all the right notes. There wasn't much wrong but like you said, Letranger she could've been better and should've been seeing how she is a sensational women, with quite some talent. But for some stars certain styles of music just aren't easy.

^ Quite so. :) I feel sure that it could have been a more spectacular song, given that they had Jodi Benson in their lead female role--but there wasn't anything *wrong* with it; it was pretty. I do like the song for what it is, though it'll never be a favorite of mine (then again, the overall movie's not, either. My favorite song from it is Muru's, and my favorite characters are the Fox, Muru, & Nava. I give it a 6.5-7, while the original Balto is a 9-10.) Anyways, everything in the final film had to be okayed by the director, so I guess that's how he wanted Jenna to sing. ^^

Now, that I would enjoy to see... Although, I preferred Jenna with her original voice actor (Bridget Fonda.) However, when faced with recasting, they could certainly have done a lot worse than my dear Jodi Benson!

Let's remember that Jenna was voice for the girl who did Ariel in The Little Mermaid and remember how talented she was then?

I liked her song more than any of the other ones between the two sequels, but it still left something to be desired. I've always thought it was very short--only a few verses--and it seemed like her voice cracked once or twice. I know Jodi's not exactly in her prime, so she did very well considering her age.

If it cracked maybe it wasnt properly warmed up.

Even after you warm up, your voice still has a chance at cracking when you sing because sometimes it can be beyond your control depending on how high the tone is or how fast your tone changes.

I haven't payed a whole lot of attention to the way Jodi sung, but next time I do watch Balto 3, I'll be sure to pay more attention and see if there seemed to be any instances where her voice did crack.

I don't exactly recall noticing Jenna's voice crack, but I know that I was not quite as impressed with it as I have been with every other Jodi Benson performance I've ever heard. (The song itself never really stood out to me, either.)

I saw a video from recent years of her singing "Part of Your World" again live, and her voice there was as stunning, powerful, and gorgeous as it was in "The Little Mermaid." It's a little surprising that she would give a lesser performance even for a sequel film, but still, it was lovely. She may have wanted Jenna to sound different from Ariel.
