Its fine, probably one of the least of the producers worries. Besides, whats shown on kids cartoons today makes this look innocent.

Your welcome. Its the same factor with Balto saying "My God" when he saw the bush plane. Its totally innocent.

Agreed on the "My God" sentiment.
I mean, it's a phrase I hear uttered on a nearly daily basis, and I guess there's nothing horribly wrong with how he used it, but it seemed so... foreign to hear it come from the mouth of Balto.

I don't know why this would be considered inappropriate. Like a lot of people have said in previous posts, many kids have probably seen a bar in real life. All their doing is showing a sign with the word "Bar" on it. How is that inappropriate? It's not like kids are going to be seeing adults drinking beer, getting drunk, fighting, etc. " Now if it was something like a strip club, then obviously we got a problem!

There is nothing wrong with putting that in a children's cartoon. Bars are common. It is not like they show the characters drinking or anything (which they did in All Dogs go to Heaven, as well as smoking XD ). I am unsure if it would have been called a bar at the time, a saloon, or what, though.

If I can make a movie reference herek remember the smoking, drinking and gambling involved in ADGTH 1? Anything Balto had done or said in Balto III couldnt be any worse than ADGTH was.

Anything Balto had done or said in Balto III couldnt be any worse than ADGTH was. True enough. Come to think of it, there's a number of references to alchoholic beverages in the Narnia books, though not consumed to excess (except occasionally by bad guys), and in a society based on the Middle Ages, when water was so unreliable you had to add some wine to make it safe to drink.

I didnt really hear him say it until the second time I watched it.......sounded extremely odd. Strange how he says it while looking in the direction of the church.

That was a coincidence...it was not intended at all. He was reacting to the plane being there in Nome. There was no religious implication in his exclamation whatsoever.

Compared to so many other things, countless at that, one line like that is harmless.

The general consensus seems to me to be that the appearance of a bar in WOC, as well as Balto exclamation of, "My God," really don't mean that much and don't compromise the "kid-ness" of the movies. So really, I don't see much reason for this topic to stay open.

If they had drunk characters in old Disney films then I don't see why they can't simply put a bar sign on a building.
