Was it a mistake to make TLK 11/2? I'm only wondering because the story seemed complete just knowing that Simba had a daughter and that his daughter Kiara had a mate. Did they really have to make a third TLK movie? If they had made a third would it have been good to make a third movie about Kaira and Kovu and thier own cub? Did Timon and Pumbaa really diserve thier own movie? Was it a waste of time and affort to make the movie? In my opinion. Yes.
The movie didn't need another sequel because TLK2 kind of completed it all. Timon and Pumbaa are annoying characters who don't deserve a sequel in my opinion. I like them but they didn't really deserve a movie about them. They were useful in the first, as comic relife and since they saved Simba's life, but did we really need to know where they came from? In my opinion TLK was fine without another sequel, it seems like the director and his crew kind of ruined the movie it seemed like a disgrace to the fans of TLK1 and TLK2. Or so I've heard. It would seem that TLK really was fine by itself with its only sequel. But what about other people? Do any of you think that TLK deserved a third movie? I don't think it did, why? Maybe because I'm not a huge fan of TLK let alone Timon and Pumbaa. But if they had made a third movie I think it should have been about Kovu and Kaira like the second movie. Here's my full opinion on the third movie. It stank a little. It was kind of funny but I think it was a waste of money did we really need to know the "11/2 of it"? Was there even supposed to be a 11/2 of it? I don't think so. Anway, the movies (the two first ones) were good the story and characters were good and well disigned. And the music aswell as the plot but TLK3 I think was a mistake to make because I think the last movie should have been better. If it had been than maybe they would have made a fourth. But that was TLK's last movie and (in my opinion) it was bad. If it hadn't been about Timon and Pumbaa than maybe that would have made TLK's popularity increase. But just think about it, it was the last movie for TLK and it probably should have been about Simba and Nala or Kovu and Kaira but no. It was Timon and Pumbaa. Don't think that I have a problem with Timon and Pumbaa but in my opinion it shouldn't have been about them, it was just.... bad. TLK should have gotten a better movie so that (possibly) there could have been a fourth. I'm not saying that there might not be a fourth but if it had earned more money than....

What do you think? Was it a mistake to make a TLK3 or was it a good idea to know the full story of the two pals? Maybe it was? And maybe it wasn't? I think it was a disgrace to the TLK storys.

I thought it was a great movie

I loved the parts with Timon's meerkat friends.

I like the idea of Simba and Nala having kids, but I actually do not like the idea of a film about Kiara and Kovu's children. It'd get really repetitive.

Or a prequal.

The filmmakers decided to make The Lion King 1 1/2 when they all got together to see the stage musical. While watching the characters on stage, they realized that the true heart of their story was the friendship between Timon and Pumbaa. There was a history about them that the filmmakers wanted to explore, such as how they met, and what Hakuna Matata means to them. The result is a chance for fans to see Timon and Pumbaa as more than mere comic relief, but as protagonists in their own right. (I personally see it no different from Frodo and Sam, with Timon being the leader like Frodo, and Pumbaa being the devoted follower like Sam.) Like Frodo and Sam, they are two innocent, lovable characters the fans can relate to, or at least look up to, experiencing a special bond of friendship and love.

We, the fans, (or at least the fans of Timon and Pumbaa) are the very reason we have The Lion King 1 1/2! Be happy!!!

They can make a lion king 4 for Kovu,Kiara,and their precious little cubs LK3 BELONGS TO TIMON AND PUMBAA,AND I LOVE THAT!!!!IT WAS WONDERFUL!I'll stop yelling......

I enjoyed Lion King 3, for the reason that it offered another vision of the original film, and was truly funny.
The aim was clearly not the same as the first sequel, which was more "conventional". I really don't think it was a mistake. Making another film like the second would have been one. (unless they could have really find original ideas...)
