Personality: Baridi is a show off. She doesn’t really like doing some things herself, but tries her best not to give up on things she thinks are important. She sometimes doesn’t do the smartest things, as she is on the obtuse side; she does what she wants without thinking about it, and can’t think of her own plans, which is why she gets Bahari to do it. She spends more time doing physical work than mental work. She can sometimes be good-natured and appreciative

History: Baridi and her sister, Bahari, were born in The Msitu Lands. She loved running and going fast. When she found out about The Mbio Race, a race held once in a while, she really wanted to compete in it, but she was too young.
When she was older, she was finally allowed to enter, so she started practicing. One afternoon, she and her sister met Destiny, one of the cubs of The Msitu Pride. They became friends, and Destiny wanted to help Baridi get ready for the race.
Baridi trained and trained until the day that the race was to be on came. She was sure she’d win, however, during the race she sometimes stopped for breath. She got tired of the other contestants bumping into her, so she ran across some rocks by the river. But some of the rocks were mossy, so she slipped and fell into the river. Shujaa, another lion cub, got her out. The prince of The Msitu Pride thought that maybe there shouldn’t be The Mbio Race anymore. Baridi was upset, but she played tag with the others, and she would still have races with her sister and Destiny.
Relation to TLK: She lives near the pride Malka comes from, although Malka’s mother is just a cub at this time, and Baridi knows her brother, Shujaa
