Personality: Joto isn’t as easily upset as others. He is smart, kind and calm, but tries to be kingly to his friend’s annoyance and can be stern. He knows his little brother feels left out and so will play with him at home. Joto is one of the braver cubs of the gang
Likes: His friends, his little brother, exploring, being the future king, being leader of the gang, playing, being awake at dawn
Dislikes: Kiburi’s fearfulness, being bullied by Shujaa and Destiny, getting bitten by Jino
History: Joto is the prince of his pride.
One day he saw Kia and Vara (two cubs from his pride) with a new cub, Mrithi. Mrithi was from another pride and he wasn’t happy there, so Kia and Vara brought him to their pride. Joto wanted his father to know about this cub, but when his little brother, Jino, threatened to bite him if he did not ‘repay’ Mrithi (after Mrithi had ‘warned’ Joto about something in the grass, which was Jino ready to pounce on his brother,) he decided not to tell the king.
One day, Mrithi’s father came to the pride, looking for his son. He saw Kiburi (Mrithi’s name was changed) running and ran after him, but the cub’s mother came to the rescue. She decided to stay with Kiburi at Vara and Kia’s pride where he would be happy. His father returned to his pride. Joto became friends with Kia, Vara and Kiburi.
Relation to TLK: He is the future king of the pride Malka comes from, although Malka’s mother is just a cub at this time
