Personality: Before the fire, Mala was a very genuine character, always wanting to look after her siblings. She was responsible, and loving, a very good daughter to both her parents. She even accepted Bour, even with him being the black sheep of the family. But after the fire separated her from her family, something inside Mala snapped, and she became clingy, desperate for love and security, but as a result her mind became unhinged, and she no longer began to see clearly. Her condition improved once Mheetu took her in and helped her, and she did feel regret for her actions towards Majuto and Bour.

History: Mala was born in Tanglemane and his mate's first litter, and was nearing adolescence when Nala arrived, carrying Tanglemane's cubs. She did not turn Nala away, or reject her father. When Bour and his brothers were welcomed into the world, Mala took extra care of them even though there was no need - her mother did not reject the responsibility of the cubs, even if they were not hers, and her father did not shy away from caring for them either, even though Mala felt he was very withdrawn from them.

Then came the fire, and Mala was also separated from her family. She went back to her home every day, finding evidence of siblings lost in the fire. Something in her mind snapped, and Mala changed for the worst. She practically lived by the sight of her former home, never leaving to move on with her life. It was as if she couldn't, and so she stayed, which led to her eventually bumping into Bour and his mate Majuto. Mala did not recognize Bour, and likewise for him, but she immediately clung onto Majuto for love and support. Unable to deny her that because he's a very nice guy, Majuto did just that, and a few months later two cubs were born.

Prior to the birth of the cubs, Bour ended up finding out about Majuto's affair with Mala from Majuto himself, and abandoned them. Majuto went after him, and Bour was convinced to come back, much to Mala's disdain, but once the cubs were born, Bour left a second time. Majuto finally put his paw down with Mala, and she left him and their cubs in his care. Her mind completely gone, Mala wandered aimlessly, near close to death by the time she met Mheetu, who had escaped Scar's tyranny, and created a coalition of orphaned lions and lionesses that were free to come and go as they pleased. Mheetu felt sympathy for Mala, and cared for her, helping her to restore not only her strength, but her mind as well.

Mala felt much better since departing the dark corners of her mind and seeing the light. Unfortunately it came with regret, regret for what she did to Majuto and Bour, and regret for the cubs that she shouldn't have had. Mala never told Mheetu about it, and made up a huge lie concerning her backstory, just so that she could never think about that moment in her life when everything was dark ever again.
