In order to shorten the length you have to wait before seeing the fanarts, fanfics and articles you sent to appear on the site, I've named a few more mods.

For doing this, I had to translate parts and make documentations for using my admin. But it should now work fine, and I'll be able to take more mods in the future much easier. (although, remember : don't ask to be mod, or you will never be!)

Following the recent server issues on the site, I've decided to prepare the future of the site by adding a Paypal donation system on the site.

You see, there are more and more visitors on the site, and this is beginning to be a problem. The server failures were hardware related so not directly related to this, but the server will probably won't be able to cope with this increase infinitely.

So, I've decided to pay for my current host, but I'll probably have to find my own host one day or another, and this will be more costy...

As you've all seen, the server has experienced problems and has been reinstalled. We're not sure if the problem is really solved, that's why I will not make any major change on the site until at least a week. I will try to correct some little problems I have found to find stability.

Also, one important thing for the fanarts : this time, I have disabled the context menu (right click) on the fan art pictures. I didn't want to prevent honest people to save the pictures for themselves (for example, for using them as a desktop), but I think I had to do something. So, no context menu at all. (and [...]

The server used for the site is currently having severe issues, explaining all the database breaking and the 'site unreachable' periods. So if you can't access the site sometimes, don't wonder why.
The reasons are still unknown for the moment (maybe a problem with the server hardware). In any case, I may  look for a new host for the site soon.

I suppose everyone knows it, but there was a problem with the login and the forums, due to a damaged table in the database. I received more than 50 emails about this...I wasn't here so I couldn't correct it, but now it should work fine.

As this 'database corruption' problem happens pretty often these days, I will try to add an automatic script on the site to repair the tables.

The fanfic send system hadn't changed much since the beginning. So, I've taken it to trash and started a whole new fanfic send system.
Here are the new things you'll be able to do now :

- Edit the text of your fanfics (even fanfics already sent)
- Write your fanfics directly on the site! Using the editor I've already talked about previously.
- You can write them in several times, no need to send short fics because you don't want to write something long online.
- Choose between 3 send methods : writing online, sending a word file (as before), or link to an external site page

I've added the Spaw editor (already used for articles and private messages) to help you edit your profile in a better-looking way.

I've also updated the wallpapers section; this is a section that I hope to re-make entirely, when I get the time...

I've made changes in the layout of the sites (for people who know web programming, I've changed the site code to a nearly fully CSS code using 'div'.)
This has the effect of displaying the site pages quicker (especially with Internet explorer, which will now display the site progressively instead of 'at once')

The layout changes also include a few new things : the banner links are more visible, and the text fields and the buttons are more integrated with the site design. (notice : they will be displayed much better with a recent browser such as Firefox)

I've added an administration page that allows you to read your messages, directly on the site. They are the same messages that you could receive on the forums previously, but now everyone can send messages to anyone else who is a member on the site.

Better yet, is the fact that you will be warned that you've got new messages (in the 'connection' form at the top), and by clicking on this link you will access directly to your messages!

Finally, you can now send messages to people who are on the french side. Although, in that case, they will only be able to answer to you by clicking on a special [...]

To allow content to be sent more easily, I have added a 'word-like' editor on the site (it is a free PHP editor named 'Spaw editor'.
For now, it works for the articles, but it will also be available for the fanfics.
With this, you can write text and , just as you would do on Word, instead of writing any HTML code - so anyone can use it.
So, you'll be able to add pictures and links in articles more easily now. (place them exactly where you want them to be)

The fanfics display has been changed a lot : now, when you will read fanfics, you'll feel as if you're reading a real book!
Just take a look at the fanfics gallery.

I've added RSS support to the news on the site. I suppose this doesn't mean anything to most people, but it's something that will be heavily used in the future (especially with the upcoming Internet explorer 7 and Windows Vista)

RSS files allow you to get the news of a site without actually visiting it. When a news is posted on the site, you can be warned by your RSS reader.
There are many RSS readers available, and they are already supported by Mozilla Firefox.

Maybe you've already noticed this, but I've done a major change in the site system. Due to many problems caused by the fact it was impossible to identify someone precisely on the site (so, anyone could use the username of someone else for example, or could send fan arts in someone else gallery), I've decided that it was necessary to register on the site to be able to send content on the site. (which means fanarts, fanfics etc..., but not messages)

Well that's a long time since I wrote a news on Lion King Source, but this doesn't mean I haven't updated it since then.

The site is invaded with new smileys, I'm sure you've seen them already! If you want to add these new smileys in your messages (this works everywhere on the site), just click on the 'More' button next to the smiley icons. There are also new smileys on the forum.

Here is a list of more things who changed since the last news :

There are currently some problems on the site that I can't resolve by myself. It concerns everything that you send on the site : this includes fan arts, fan fics, images in articles, or any attached file that you may want to send me by email. I'm waiting that my host can resolve this.


EDIT : Thanks to an automatic compression every week of the file that caused the problem, it is now solved! You can now send everything you want, again.
