This is my review from The Lion King sequel: The Lion King 2 Simba's Pride. 

Plot: The plot from the movie was pretty lazy. I didn't liked it very much, since the movie was too short and only focused in Kiara's and Kovu's romance. 

Animation: The animation was terrible. The returning characters design (Simba, Nala, Pumbaa, Rafiki) was horrible. If they used the original film animators, it would have been 1000 times better.

New characters: I didn't like the new characters. For me, Kiara was nothing special. She was just a Simba clone and nothing more. Kovu was a momma boy and turned from evil to nice. Come on! How can he change that soon. I mean, he was trained from birth to kill Simba and later, he turned against his mother and turned "good". In the future, in my opinion, Kovu won't be a good king. 

Now, the last thing I gotta say. I don't really understand how can people say that The Lion King 2 is better than Lion King 1. It sucked as a sequel and honestly, I prefer The Lion King 3: Hakuna Matata way better than SP. Also, people say that Kovu's and Kiara's love story is more epic than Simba's and Nala's. Excuse me? How is it epic? Kovu was raised to kill, Zira filled his heart and soul with hate and anger. That's something that can't be fixed in an instant, not even 'love' can erase the damage that Zira had done. He was no less than brainwashed from early childhood. Any and every psychologist will tell you that; to overcome brainwashing is a long and complicated process, and is sometimes irreversible. Zira damaged him, to the point of no return. Kovu wouldn't know how to be a good partner, it's not like he even had a father figure either. Through little fault of his own, Kovu would be naturally/instinctively aggressive and abusive due to his upbringing. Yes, it's a kids movie, obviously they just ignore this fact of basic psychology, and I'm NOT suggesting they should show this as it is. But I'm just further stating my claim as to why Kiara and Kovu are doomed. Kovu and Kiara only met for 10 minutes or less when they were cubs and later reunited as adolescents. Yes, they reunited they're prides and all, but that doesn't count. Simba's and Nala's will always be the most epic couple from the TLK. For me, Kovu and Kiara are the weakest couple of TLK. Now, for me TLK 2 is the best sequel of all Disney, but I dislike it. It's the best sequel of Disney's sequel, considering that the rest of them are awful, but this one was a little bit different, but I still dislike it.
